My family and I went on a two-week tour of Sri Lanka in August with Travelling Pearl Lanka and we were satisfied with the experience. We really appreciated the excellent organization of the tour and the selection of hotels, all of which were of a very high standard, with beautiful rooms and a great variety of food. A special thank you goes to Shanaka, our driver, who accompanied us throughout the entire trip and was always punctual, helpful and kind.
We just came back from a fantastic trip to Sri Lanka. Pearl Lanka helped us organize this personalized tour and we had our own driver,/ guide, Dilan who was always ready to help and actually took to more places than planned. The hotels were exceptional,and in beautiful locations. Our holiday was very diverse - temples, tea plantation, Lion's rock, elephant sanctuary, snorkeling, safaris, boat trips and so much more.
Our trip was planned to be a family reunion of 3 generations from Australia and Europe. The hotels, bus, guide, driver and assistant were booked by Pearl Lanka. Activities were decided upon by the family each day. It all worked extremely smoothly. The hotels were wonderful as most had swimming pools and the breakfast buffet was a hit for all. Gayan, the guide, was excellent with information and very knowledgeable. He was keep saying it was our holiday and was flexible to research other possible activities that were more suited for the children. Muwan was safe and careful driver. Saranga was an ever helpful assistant. The team were always punctual for pick ups. Sri Lanka is highly recommended holiday destination for its fascinating culture, extraordinary environment and wildfire. Seeing the elephants was a special highlight as was surfing at Arugam Bay for the surfers in the family.
My family of 4 had a 2-week tour of Sri Lanka in Feb 2026. We had a very happy and fulfilling time with Hashan Jayakody who was assigned to us as Guide cum driver. Hashan was not only an excellent guide, he was also a good driver who made sure we were at out numerous destinations on time. He would brief us of each location and at times gave us alternatives if we thought we preferred to do something different. On the whole we are very please with our tours and have come home with fond memories of all we did in the 2 weeks we were there. I remember particularly well when on the day of our departure to Maldives, he found our that our flight was cancelled due to the Iranian war, Hashan rose to the occasion and tried his best to look for alternative flights out. We eventually did board a different flight and continued our one week holidays in Maldives successfully. We won't hesitate to recommend Hashan to prospective tourists who go through Pearl Lanka for private tours to Sri Lanka. I'm sure he will do his equal best for them too. My wife and I experienced a most joyful tour around SriLanka. Much to the success of our fabulous experience was contributed by our wonderful driver Martis who guided us safely from one destination to the next. Since it is crucial to travel with a cautious, reliable as well as knowledgeable and diligent driver in this hectic traffic, Pearl Lanka supplied us with the best driver you can think of. Martis is probably the best driver in this country! The tour as such fulfilled all our expectations in every respect and it covered all highlights to our fullest satisfaction. Full marks to Pearl Lanka!
We spent 14 days touring Sri Lanka as a family of five and experienced a great mix of culture, scenery and local life. Due to recent floods we missed the Ella train journey, but this didn’t take away from the overall trip. The itinerary was well organised and having a mini van with a private driver was definitely the best way to get around. Our guide and driver, Gayan, was reliable, friendly and very knowledgeable, often suggesting worthwhile detours such as Mini World’s End and moonstone sites. The accommodation was excellent, particularly NH Bentota Ceysands Resort , Amaya Lake and Ella Flower Garden Resort. Highlights for us included the Golden Temple, the spice garden and the village tour. Booking through Hiruni at Pearl Lanka was straightforward, with quick communication and flexibility when changes were needed due to flooding. Overall, a well-run trip that we would happily recommend to anyone planning a visit to Sri Lanka.

We had the most amazing holiday thanks to Pearl Lanka! From the moment of enquiry, Hiruni helped us plan and tailor our itinerary. She was really helpful, responsive and made mostly brilliant choices for us in terms of accommodation and route planning. Our driver, Mr Shanaka (Shan) was the absolute best! Not only was he a brilliant driver, he was also really knowledgeable about pretty much everything! He was really thoughtful, creating special moments such as buying us flowers for our anniversary, and stopping along the road for lovely local food and experiences on our longer journeys. He really got to know us, and made suggestions for things to do that were totally spot on! He also booked specialist guides at certain attractions, who were all brilliant! We had a completely unique trip, planned with care and attention! He was also lovely company, and endlessly patient! I would thoroughly recommend anyone planning a trip to Sri Lanka, to use this company, and ask for Shan as your driver/guide!
Our trip was wonderful. We saw various parts of the country (both sea and mountains) made unforgettable experiences (visits to cultural sites, boat trips on rivers, swimming with turtles, dolphin and whale visas, safaris, etc). Our guide Hashan was really good - he accompanied us throughout our journey, taking care of us, adopting the program and activities to our needs. Thanks to Hashan we learned so many interesting things about Sri Lanka and we could relax and feel pampered. We were really lucky!
The route designed by Pearl Lanka was perfectly balanced: breathtaking temples to start, national parks arranged in increasing “wow” factor, and a few relaxing days before flying home. Whenever we wanted to add or change something, our driver Hashan always found a way to make it happen. He answered all our questions, gave realistic time estimates, and even came to rescue us when we got stuck in the rain—despite our saying we’d manage on our own and him only having our WhatsApp location. As a former backpacker, I really valued the flexibility in the itinerary. There was plenty of room to add personal touches, and when some of us wanted to do something different from the rest of the group, that was no problem at all. If every trip had a Hashan, I’d never bother unpacking my suitcase.
