We booked a private transfer with Top Transfer for our family from Rio de Janeiro International Airport to Ilha Grande and back 14 days later. The total price for the round trip was 3,960 R$ (at the exchange rate at the time, about 674 €). Included in the price was a private bus just for us from Rio de Janeiro airport to the port, followed by a speedboat shared with other passengers to Ilha Grande. Unfortunately, our experience did not start very well. In advance, we were in contact with Daniella from the Top Transfer operations team. She told us exactly where we should meet after our arrival at the airport and announced that she would accompany our trip. The pickup was scheduled for 2:00 PM. About 45 minutes beforehand, we informed Daniella that we had already landed and were on our way to the agreed-upon meeting point. At 2:00 PM, we reported again that we had arrived there. Following that, we received a link through which we could track the driver. Unfortunately, our driver, Adilson Moura dos Santos, did not appear until 40 minutes later, at 2:40 PM. Heavy traffic was cited as the reason. That was difficult for us to understand, as we had previously been led to believe that the driver would already be waiting for us and would come to the airport entrance at the agreed-upon time. Waiting at the meeting point for 40 minutes with three children, even though it was a pre-booked and correspondingly high-priced private transfer, was annoying. It is not clear to us whether the communication between the operations team and the driver did not work here or whether the delay was due to the driver himself. For the customer, however, that ultimately only plays a subordinate role: For a private transfer in this price range, an agreed-upon pickup should be reliably organized. The driver apologized upon his arrival and the subsequent drive initially went without problems. Shortly before the harbor, however, a situation occurred that worried us significantly more than the previous delay: The driver was distracted by his mobile phone and apparently noticed a line of vehicles standing in front of him very late. He had to perform an emergency stop and simultaneously swerve to the side to prevent a rear-end collision. With three children in the vehicle, that was a very unpleasant and, from our perspective, avoidable situation for us. We would like to explicitly mention as a positive that the return transfer 14 days later with the same driver went significantly better. He was on time this time, did not busy himself with his mobile phone during the drive, and brought us safely and without any problems to the airport. The return trip was accordingly much more pleasant and relaxed. Overall, we are therefore only partially satisfied. The basic organization of the transfer and especially the return transfer worked well. Given a total price of 3,960 R$, however, we expect punctuality, reliable communication, and above all, completely safe driving behavior for a private transfer. Especially regarding these points, there was unfortunately a clear need for improvement on the outbound trip.

THEY ARE A SCAM!!! Don't hire them!!!! They were supposed to look for us for an excursion to paradise islands and never orssbted. Having paid in advance as all tour. They were supposed to look for us by Vermhelo and tell us that they are looking for us by another beach an hour walk or 200 reais by boat. A MESS!! SCAMMERS!!! They communicate with you and have no idea you hired them.

Excellent service, fair price and no hidden fee’s! I found very common in Rio that the arranged price is not always the final price… I was very happy to notice that Top Transfer is clear and upfront about the price (that was also very good price) The service was perfect and with constant communication. I would definitly recommend. Brigado!

We booked a month in advance a round trip transfer Rio / ilha large, we had an appointment at the hotel for pick up, after 3 hours waiting, we had to take a taxi so as not to miss the last boat. On the way back, worse still, we were cancelled without explanation the return trip. Lamentable

I took a private boat trip on Sunday with 7 other women and who took us was Renan. I would like to leave here recorded our satisfaction with the work of Renan who was very attentive to the group!
