Very interesting visit, lots of details and lots to see, very thorough guide and good description of all the things that had happened there.
You must do it once in your life and remember it.
I didn't like it. Too big group; very quick visit. We wanted to have a little more time to see and read the descriptive of the photos and the exhibition and the guide was going very fast. If we were late, we would already have the next group on top of us; in Birkenau, we couldn't hear what the guide was saying because the group was huge and there were no microphone or headphones, to be able to hear it, we would have to be all almost on top of it; Guid nothing friendly because we asked to go a little slower in the visit and responded badly. We were very disappointed because the goal of our trip to Poland was to make this tour and we felt that we could not enjoy it as we wanted. Worth the sympathy of the transfer driver
A visit with a guide is mandatory in order to really understand what we could have experienced in these camps. Take the bis from Krakow who drops you off at the entrance. Don’t forget your ID. It takes 4 hours on site and 1h20 bus ride .. the guide was really great
Well organised. Punctual. Informative
What an interesting 4 hours the guide gave the tour brought real and gave details and stories to life of how prisoners lived and died.
A thought- provoking experience I won’t forget. Lots of different areas included in the tour, some of it a little rushed to get through before the next tour behind you. Guide was knowledgeable and spoke in a story-telling type way. It was very organised, would have liked a little more autonomy on how long we could spend reflecting on certain parts.
Very well planned day trip, both transport and guided tour. Well maintained and well received. The guide and driver were very nice and knowledgeable. Top class!
Always somewhere i have wanted to visit..we had already tickets in hand so straight to wait for our tour very sombering experience our guide was excellent at explaining everything that happened....we took a shared taxi here and provided with pack lunch
We were picked up at 6.45am for the 90 minute drive to Auschwitz. Guided through the process of entering and being allocated a tour guide by our coach assistant we found the process efficient and well organised. However, the tour left us with little time to eat, drink or go to the bathroom. hot drinks, ice cream and food were not allowed on the tour bus. There is a small snack cafe and ice cream shop at both museums with limited options and no food is allowed during the guided tour. The trip through the museum was rushed with no time to pause and read the information boards Trailing too far behind the tour guide meant you lost service in your headset and therefore valuable information given by the guide. The experience needs to be felt with time given to absorb and reflect on the atrocities that happened back then, to honour those who suffered and lost their lives and there was no time to do this. I didn’t rage photos of the exhibits feeling that it was disrespectful but in hindsight I should have taken a lot more. These people’s stories need to be heard. The world needs to know what happened. The abhorrent act of the Nazis must never be forgotten. Share your photos do they reach far and wide. Be the voice of the deceased who so cruelly lost their lives for being born into the wrong race.
