The weather was not good,...
The weather was not good, but we still had a great time on this tour. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and had some good humor. I forget his name but we did the tour on 10 September 2026. At the cave, it was raining harder than before, but we were under cover while waiting to go inside so not so bad. The cave was a great experience. I've been in other caves but this was the best by far. So many interesting formations and different geology in evidence. At the castle, the rain had let up so we enjoyed touring it and taking more photos. We've been in many castles, but I don't get tired of them if they have some interesting history or construction. Finally, at lake Bled the weather had eased once again so with only a light sprinkle, we went to the island and enjoyed the views. There was a regatta going on and it was fun to watch some of the races. One of the people that was on the boat with us had competed the day prior for Australia and finished 3rd.
The most disappointing thing about the weather was the it was so cloudy and foggy, the views while driving and at the stops were reduced to a short range so we didn't get to see the mountains or other sights. That happens sometimes and our guide couldn't do anything about it so still a great tour. Highly recommended.

Slovenia under fog hides its mountains, there is no way around that, so we are glad the cave, the castle and the island still made the day, and that a regatta with an Olympic-level rower in your boat was thrown in for free. Your guide on 10 September was Jan, we will let him know. Perhaps a return visit with clear skies over Bled one day 😉

Day out in Ljubljana
This was a fabulous day out exploring the caves, Lake Bled and Predjama Castle. Collected promptly and we had an excellent guide who was informative and entertaining. It’s a full day out and we came home tired but was well worth it. A couple of additional costs for the Lake and castle entries, not a bother.

Perfect for those with limited days in the area who want to visit Lake Bled as well as Postjama Caves. Excellent tour guide who shared great information about destinations as well as Slovenian history.

Exactly as described. Great tour. Ignore the comments about transportation only. Your guide drives you, provides history along the way, at the destination site, explains exactly where to get tickets (and all ticketing options to save money), where to stand (to get the best experience), explains the whole process instead of trying to figure it all out in a different language. That in itself saves so much time and messing around. Worth every penny. Karin was amazing.

Slovenia is a beautiful...
Slovenia is a beautiful country. This day trip is a unique combination of caves and spectacular castles and views. Lake Bled is a must see and the cave tour is fascinating - the train is a bonus that saves your legs and allows you to see more than would be otherwise accessible!
