Unfortunately, this was one of the worst and most unbelievable tour experiences we’ve ever had. Our tour started normally, but at our second stop, Eilean Donan Castle, our tour guide Rab was arrested by the police. The tour immediately came to an end, leaving us stranded at the castle with no transportation back. What made an already shocking situation significantly worse was the complete lack of support from the tour company. We tried contacting them directly but could not get anyone to answer the phone. With no assistance or alternative transportation provided, we had to ask another tour bus for a ride to the nearest town and then pay out of pocket for a train back to the town where we were staying. Because the tour ended at only the second stop, we missed the parts of the itinerary we had been most excited to visit, which was incredibly disappointing considering this was one of the activities we had planned our trip around. We understand that the circumstances surrounding the guide’s arrest may have been completely unexpected and outside the company’s control. However, leaving paying customers stranded with no communication, assistance, or backup transportation is unacceptable. A tour company should have an emergency plan in place for situations where a guide or vehicle cannot continue. To make matters worse, we were unable to reach the company afterward and ultimately had to go through Viator ourselves to request a refund. The arrest itself was obviously an extraordinary situation, but our rating is primarily based on how poorly everything was handled afterward. We were left to figure out how to get back on our own, incurred additional transportation costs, and missed most of the tour we had paid for. The complete lack of communication and support from the company was extremely disappointing.

Operator did not show for a non refundable tour. No answer at phone or messaging for 25 minutes after tour was supposed to begin and stated business hours. There are other options.

The car ride is long in a not very comfortable vehicle. Microphone that crackles. The day was quite rainy. Consequently, the view of the mountains was compromised. No turquoise water at the foot of the falls. Great lunch break. The best fish and chips of the entire trip to Scotland. Friendly guide who had to step in at the last minute for the driver who had been assigned to us. Strict adherence to the schedule. ………………………

We had a wonderful driver who stepped in at the last minute, and gave us a fabulous day to remember.

For the girlies who want to go to this tour for the magical water where you dip your face for 7 seconds for eternal beauty, this doesn’t necessarily go there, but is on the way to and back from the fairy pools. Richard took extra time to take us to Sligachan where we were able to get granted our eternal beauty. The trip was really beautiful and paced well. Donan castle looked unreal. The fairy pools was a nice hike down and back up. We were only given an hour there. Richard was very generous with his time and patience with the group and he was a great tour guide. Thank you Richard for making one of my bucket lists come true!

We were delighted with our tour, run by Richard! He was an excellent orator, incredibly knowledgeable and surprised us a couple of times with treats. He thoughtfully kept us on time, listened to our comments and feedback, was excellent company overall and a kind person - someone you want to spend the day with. We loved every stop along the tour and thought it was a worthwhile adventure. Highly recommend bringing shorts or a towel so you can go for a dip in the fairy pools.

This was a great highlights tour of the highland! The tour guide Richard was fantastic and took us to more off-the beaten path spots which made the most of the experience. Due to things completely out of Tour Skye’s control, we had to adjust the itinerary and didn’t hit everything I was looking forward to. It wasn’t their fault, and I felt that Richard made up for it with the other stops he added so I feel the value was still worth it. We only had an hour at the Fairy pools and I learned that I am not a fast enough hiker to get from the bus to the main falls and back in one hour 🙈 That was the biggest disappointment. The falls and trail leading up to it were still beautiful and my family enjoyed it. Overall, Richard did a great job making the best of the tour despite some unexpected setbacks.
