I had a lot of fun seeing the different places and environments . I feel like it was worth the price and it wasn't too crowded. The length of the tour wasn't too long and the rides weren't exchusting , the staff were always nice and the explanations were always interesting and fun to listen to. I think the trip is overall best for families , friends or going solo , and I highly recommend it!

We had a great day with Mike! We appreciated all the history and context he gave us about the villages and activities we did. It was an enjoyable day seeing the woodworking village and awe inspiring Buddhist temple in Inami and then on to the thatched-roofed village of Gokayama. It was fun making our own paper there. Our final visit of the day was to the village of Shirakawa-go. Mike gave us a great tour of Kanda House and then gave us time to explore on our own. He answered all our questions along the way. We also want to thank our driver who made the trip comfortable for us. It was a wonderful day!

i booked on the same morning very spontaneously, and it was the best i could wish for! mike was amazing and i ended up going to places i would’ve never managed to visit. the first 2 villages were way less touristy than shirakawa-go, two real gems!

This tour was even better than described!! Even though it was a busy holiday weekend we never felt rushed and got to see more than I thought we would. Our guide Daniel was super knowledgable, friendly and was a huge asset navigating these small villages. He answered tons of questions, gave great history lessons and really made it feel personalized to our group. Daniel really was awesome, would love to go on more tours with him as a guide! If you are looking for authentic traditional Japanese culture, this is a must do. The value is really there, especially when you consider that they drive you all day long. Oh, try to find all the cat carvings, thats the best part!
