We had a very relaxed and interesting private tour with Yumi in Shirakawa. Yumi is a very friendly guide. As a former English teacher she speaks good English. She told us a lot about this beautifull mountain village. We visited a shrine. The tori gate was combined with buddhist elements. We saw the two guardian dogs (komainu) one with open mouth and one with closed mouth A and UN. After that Yumi took us to a boedhist temple. The surroundings of the village are beautiful; a river and lots of big trees. We saw rice fields. After lunch in a tipical Japanse restaurant with nice prune wine we went to a beautiful onsen with views on the Mountains and the trees. It rained a little bit. But thanks to the umbrella’s from the driver we didn’t get wet. We had a very nice day.

Shirakawa-go a must go
Shirakawa-go was the most beautiful part of our trip and this was made possible with the guidance from Taka san. She was friendly, knowledgeable and very adaptable to our needs. My wife and I are very thankful we got to meet a lovely guide like her and we highly recommend using Taka san to make your Japan explorations come alive!

Kanazawa Visit
This is a great place to visit, great views of the village and rice field views. Go early beat the traffic. Yoshi our guide was great helping explain and show us around. Great weather.
