Carlos was an excellent guide, telling us all about marine animals & birds. He was kind enough to lend us his underwater camera so we could capture some pictures. That was unexpected! We had a separate local guide (required) for the turtle swim, Salma. She was very helpful and we were able to see many turtles, other fish species, and a golden ray. Thank you to both for a very memorable experience.

Loved this tour and Carlos was amazing!! The most patient guide I am recommending him to my friends if they want to do this tour.

Wonderful day. Saw around 7 turtles & lots of curious fish in the cenote. Carlos taught about what we were looking at the whole time and was a joy to be with. Definitely recommend it.

For our first visit to Rivera Maya, we stayed in Akumal which is where local guides Cheyo and Monica of Contoy Adventures met our family of six (4 teens). During the snorkeling trip we saw 5 turtles eating sea grass, numerous tropical fish, sea anemones hidden in coral reefs, and as a bonus, the canon of an old Spanish ship. We then went to Azul Cenote and jumped off the 3-4 meter ledge into the water, and snorkeled with tropical fresh water fish. Cheyo and Monica were spectacular: detail-oriented, experienced, and they couldn’t have been friendlier. Contoy clearly know what they’re doing as two of our kids said this was the best vacation day of their lives. If you enjoy the wonder and beauty of the natural world, this trip is an absolute must.

This was a fantastic experience for my family of four! The snorkeling trip was amazing as we saw many sea turtles and schools of different fish. The cenote experience was excellent, what a place! Omar was a fantastic guide and provided us with great background info, made sure that we had everything we needed and was fantastic with my teens! Our driver Manuel made sure we were safe and on time! We can’t wait to go on another adventure with this great crew!

We spent the most wonderful few hours with Carlos from Contoy Excursions. Our first stop was swimming with sea turtles. We got to the beach really early, almost first in the water, were driven out by small boat to beautiful clear water, where we jumped out and met our first sea turtles! Carlos was absolutely incredible with my 7 year old son, kept him close the whole time so myself and my sister could relax and really enjoy the experience without worrying. An added bonus? He even filmed the whole thing on our GoPro for us. We saw sea turtles, sting rays and even a barracuda. It was really a perfect morning - all 3 of us had the best time!! Our second stop of the day was the most beautiful Cenote. Crystal clear waters and again, so well looked after by Carlos. He shared so much information about the local wildlife, made us relaxed from the start and was really fantastic with my son. Carlos, we can't thank you enough!! See you next time.

I came with my two kids - 9 year old boy and 4 year old daughter. I don’t like dealing with the crowds and since it was me managing both of them I arranged for this private tour. Was picked up in a nice Ford excursion. The trip there my kids got about 30 minutes of interesting facts about sea turtles and the area which they enjoyed. Since it was just us with the tour guide everything was very quick and no wasted time. Once we were done with the turtles he realized everyone was going to this one place to swim in the fresh water. He made a game time decision to take us a little further away but it was an amazing place in the jungle with only probably 4 other people there for my kids to swim. He took amazing video and shared. Highly recommend if you don’t like the cattle call of group tours.

We did the turtle and cenote tour with Carlos, who is a very nice and well informed guy. Our tour started at 8:30 in the morning, when probably most of the tourists just wake up. Thereby, we had to see the chance to see 3 turtles and a sting ray in clear water before all other groups arrived and Carlos took photos and videos with his own go pro, which he provided for free. Afterwards we moved on to a beautiful open cenote (we never saw one like that) to do some swimming and snorkelling. I can highly recommend this tour and Carlos as a guide :)

We did both the turtle snorkeling and an all day archaeological private tour. Carlos & Eduardo were great, as were both of our drivers. They took care of our every need and made sure we got exactly what we wanted out of each of our adventures. In fact, the all day tour wasn't something they have done before, but they put it together specifically for us...that's service!
