Excellent food tour with Sten. The food selection was appropriate to the area, including oysters if you wanted them. Sten was friendly and his knowledge of French history and gastronomy were a perfect combination. The others in the group were fun to chat with too.

As someone who has taken many food tours in various cities, this one was excellent! The tour flowed at a perfect pace and we tried a variety of foods at unique restaurants and shops I may not have found on my own. From pain au chocolate, to fresh oysters, to yuzu lemon liqueur, to chocolates from a Michelin-star chef, everything was tasty and appropriately portioned! The Montmartre area was beautiful to explore and our tour guide, Sten, did a great job of sharing local history and educating us about the foods we were eating. Thanks for a lovely morning!

There was a group of 8 of us that took this food tour. Our guide, Sten was excellent! He was knowledgeable about the food and history of Montmartre. His calm and friendly demeanor was perfect and he had a true interest in food. The food and wine tastings were delicious . I highly recommend this tour especially if you are fortunate enough to get Sten as your guide! Skol! 🥂

We were looking for a culinary tour that was a cut above. This one delivered. It immerses you in the Monmartre culinary scene and you will really get to know, taste, and appreciate some of the best of Montmartre. If you are mobile enough to take this tour, and able to gently climb some of steep hills of Monmartre, you will be richly rewarded. That’s bc you’ll be embedded in one of the most historic and artistic areas of Paris and see where the great French artists lived and made history. We were attracted to this tour for the food tasting but got much, much more as we now have an appreciation for Monmartre and its artistic community. I will say that it’s not for someone who hates walking up a few steep hills and stairs (It’s worth it though, trust me) but If you do, make sure you wear sneakers, and if it’s a hot day carry a water bottle with you. Now to the food tasting part of the tour. Our tour guides Clare and Erika planned a fulfilling food tour. I liked the way they combined some tasting while seated at a few local spots, with other tasting with hand-held items on the go. We were more than full by the end, trying everything from delectable French baguettes and croissants to oysters on the half shell (four different kinds!), shrimp, French sausage served with a kind of cheesy, creamy potatoes (my favorite), two kinds of crepes, (one savory and one sweet), tasty chocolates and caramels from the famous French chocolatier Alain Ducasse, and exquisite macarons from the same location where they were actually first created. Clare’s style is easygoing, and VERY informative. Her grasp of French history allows her to point out the historic locations and explain why each is revered by the locals. Her accent in English is slightly New Zealand but she is French through and through, and it shows through her presentation. She knows the proprietors, and where to take you. My only suggestion would be for her to speak a bit louder because with the hustle and bustle on the streets of Monmartre, it can get a bit noisy and crowded. Erika was excellent as well. Her background in the culinary arts added so much to the experience. They made a great team. All in all we were very happy with this tour and therefore can highly recommend it to others.

Overall, the tour was great. Our guide, Jesita, was fantastic. Couple of suggestions: keep the tour to a smaller radius to make it a bit easier for out of town guests to get back to the metro, etc. Also, Strongly encourage the use of a microphone for the guide and ear pieces for guests. Between the road noise… different accents… and saving the guides voice, this would be a big help for everyone.

Our guide Sten expertly guided us through Montmatre. We tasted a variety of delicacies ranging from croissants, cheeses, wines, and oysters. Sten was knowledgeable about the foods, wines, and history and spoke great English. Highly recommend!!!

Excellent tour, excellent guide (sten)

We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour of Montmartre with Salma! Not only due to the delicacies we tasted, but because we appreciated the pride that each restauranteur or shop-owner took in sharing their specialties with us. Salma was so knowledgable, both in the epicurean aspects of our tour & in the strands of local Parisian & European history that led to a delicious plate of food. We highly recommend this tour, especially with Salma as guide!
