Sachiko was amazing. She is friendly, knowledgeable, fluent in English and just a lovely person to spend the day with. Our visit with Ohi (toshio Ohi chizaemon) was the best 90 minutes of our vacation. The geisha and the Kimono tours also well worth it. Learned a lot today. Thank you Sachiko.
Our guide was extremely well informed and she made the experience wonderful I highly recommend both her and the tour
My wife and I had a full day tour with Yoshiko Oigawa as our private guide. Yoshiko was friendly and knowledgeable. She took us to two incredible local talents who explained their art (through Yoshiko’s interpretation). We were fascinated and learned a lot about lacquer ware and silk painting. We gained an understanding and appreciation of these artists’ work. Yoshiko also found us a great place for lunch as well as a couple of places to shop for locally made high quality crafts. We had wonderful time.
Thank you so much for this wonderful message! We’re really happy to hear you and your wife had such a memorable full day with Yoshiko Oigawa. It’s fantastic to know that Yoshiko helped you connect with local artisans and gain a deeper appreciation for the incredible traditions of lacquerware and silk painting. These experiences are so special because they allow guests to meet the people behind the crafts and understand the skill and passion passed down through generations. We’re also glad she could help you discover a great lunch spot and find some locally made crafts to take home. Yoshiko truly loves sharing the best of Kanazawa, and we’re very proud of the thoughtful experiences she creates. We’ll make sure Yoshiko sees your kind words, she’ll be so happy to read this! Ian spent the entire day showing us around Kanazawa, despite the intense summer heat, and made every moment engaging and enjoyable. We learned so much about geishas, samurai, the history of Japan and Kanazawa, and even the fascinating art of gold leaf craftsmanship. He also took us to a charming little teahouse in Nishi Chaya District for a delicious matcha latte before heading to Omicho Market, where we enjoyed Omicho Hanton Curry, one of Kanazawa's local specialties, for lunch. Along the way, he explained the different local products sold at the market and even taught us a few useful Japanese phrases. Overall, Ian gave us an incredibly informative and memorable day. Everything was perfectly organized, and he was punctual throughout, sticking to the agreed schedule. We would highly recommend Ian to anyone looking for an authentic, insightful, and enjoyable experience in Kanazawa!
