We had a great day with Bill! He was a Canadian-Greek, so there was no communication issues. It was nice to have a private tour to get to the beach. We were on our own timetable. We only stopped where we wanted to go. Which in our case, was Elafonissi and then afterwards, a spot where they were selling olive oil and other local Greek products. There was great communication before and during the day with Bill. I opted for a private trip to the beach so we weren't at the mercy of a bunch of others who might be late and affect how long we had at each place. I'm so glad we booked this tour!

We met our private driver, Tony, at the port in Crete but communication directly with this operator was flawless and fast. (I did use google translate to initiate but their English was perfect.) Tony drove safely, competently, and had excellent English skills. He made sure to point out interesting sites along the drive and worked with us to make sure we had the EXACT experience we wanted. We stopped at a roadside stand for honey, olive oil, and raki and it was clear Tony was well-known and loved. The sweet lady there kept giving us samples of the most heavenly food. We had to toss out old clothes to make room in our luggage to bring home the goodies! We also stopped at a nice taverna where we were treated like royalty. Obviously they knew and liked Tony and had a business relationship, but it felt like he was bringing us to see friends and not that they were conspiring to rip off tourists. Unfortunately, it seems that the pink sands of Elafonisi are primarily due to surging winter seas breaking up offshore coral so it is only really visible in May and early June so our August beach break was just a nice day at a lovely beach but no pink sand.

Before our trip, the company communicated clearly and provided all the information we needed. On arrival at Chania Airport, our driver was waiting for us with a sign displaying our name. He was polite, helped with our luggage, and made us feel welcome straight away. During the journey to our hotel, he was friendly and knowledgeable, pointing out places of interest and recommending things to do around Crete. We also enjoyed chatting about our jobs and hobbies, which made the journey even more enjoyable. It was a much more relaxing and personal experience than a standard coach transfer. The day after we arrived, we received an email from Crete Lux Travel outlining the excursions they offer. We had originally planned to hire a car for a few trips, but after seeing what was available, we decided to book a private day trip to Elafonisi Beach instead—and we're so glad we did. Our driver, Stavros, arrived at our hotel a little before the agreed pick-up time. He was incredibly friendly, chatty, and welcoming, and even provided us with ice-cold bottled water for the journey. When we arrived at Elafonisi Beach, he kindly lent us a beach umbrella for some much-needed shade. We exchanged phone numbers and arranged a convenient pick-up time for later in the day. On the return journey, Stavros suggested stopping at Agia Sofia Cave, which was absolutely worth visiting, followed by lunch at a mountain-view restaurant that he recommended. Both stops made the day even more memorable. We arrived back at the hotel after a fantastic day out, and the service throughout was outstanding. I would highly recommend booking an excursion with Crete Lux Travel. Our return airport transfer to Chania Airport was just as impressive. Once again, our driver arrived early but didn't make us feel rushed. He helped with our luggage, asked about our holiday, and made the journey enjoyable. Heavy traffic could have caused delays, but he knew an alternative route and got us to the airport in plenty of time. I would 100% recommend Crete Lux Travel for both airport transfers and excursions. Their communication was excellent throughout, every driver was professional, friendly, and punctual, and the level of customer service was outstanding. They really helped make our holiday even more enjoyable, and we wouldn't hesitate to use them again on our next visit to Crete. Thank you!

Tony was our driver for the day in Crete and took us on the best adventure to get to the world famous Elafonisi Beach! He gave us a lot of history and insights on the long drive from our port and stoped at a great spot for local olive oil, honey, and other great products. He then took us to Falassarna Beach for a relaxing afternoon of food and sun. The scenic drive was just as breathtaking as the beach! Loved every minute of this day! We were on a cruise that had the itinerary change at the last minute, so our tour was not pre-booked. It happened as a result of a very friendly and helpful woman, Christine (SeabyBus). Tony at Crete Lux Travel could help us and make this iconic beach day happen for us! I was so relieved as this was one of my must do things on this vacation. The best experience ever.! Super good service and the kindest chauffeurs 🌸 It was so fantastic to arrive at the airport and be picked up by this really kind and serviceminded person.! And also going back to the airport!! The warmest and highest recommendation from here.! Also the cost, is so fair and actually cheaper then buying the transfer with the travel agency.
