Really enjoyed this tour. Saw the Dunkirk underground hospital at Dover Castle. Very interesting. White Cliffs were beautiful even though we were viewing them from the land. If we ever visit again would love to take a tour that views them from out on the water. But these for these types of tours you definitely need strong walking ability to walk on uneven surfaces and up & down steep hills. Great day.

Pooja did a great job giving us our tour of Dover and Canterbury. The instructions for meeting point were great. The bus was nice Daniel great driver. Pooja provided lots of extra historical information. We were highly pleased!

Ales was a great tour guide! This trip was fantastic! He provided so much information about each stop (Dover Castle, Dover Cliffs, and Canterbury Cathedral. We had plenty of time at each stop. We never felt rushed at all. Dover castle is stunning as are the cliffs. The cathedral is wonderful too. Ales took us in the cathedral and showed us around to the most significant spots. Book this trip! You can’t go wrong!

Ales was a great guide. He kept us informed and entertained. The trip was beautiful and well paced. Loved all of it! The Dover Castle was amazing, walking the White Cliffs was so beautiful and Canterbury Cathedral was stunning.

We took a day trip out to Canterbury and Dover with Ales and he was a fantastic guide! He provided great information at each location, interesting history, and did it all with fun humor along the way! I would absolutely recommend taking this tour and Ales!

The tour was very well organized. And the guide spent a lot of the time traveling talking about the sites we would be seeing providing historical background.

There is quite a bit of walking, hills and steps. I would advise against the tunnel tour if you have claustrophobia. I would eat breakfast, not a lot of food break time. Our guide Ava and our driver Grant where wonderful.

Look up PannyWise for their excellent write-up of the day. Would be silly of me to give you any additional info after such a good description. I will just add my personal thoughts. Our guide was Sophie and all I can say is that she was born to do this. She was highly knowledgeable and friendly. A very good communicator, which is important when you have time schedules and things. And, of course, she was very knowledgable about everything we did, except one thing, which I will talk about in a moment. Bottom line, she knows the history and she delivers it in an engaging manner. She was an essential part of my enjoyment of the tour. Dover Castle was a real highlight of my trip. I love castles and this one is not only in great condition for exploration, it also has a great history traced back to William the Conqueror. You will find out, youself, why this castle was difficult to take and it's because it sits on a hill and it always seems like you are walking uphill. Be prepared for that. Otherwise, the whole area is incredibly picturesque whether you are looking at the castle, the church, or the crumbling Roman lighthouse. And if you get a clear day, as we did, you can easily see France. The tunnels under the castle provide a super interesting look into what life was like there during different periods, especially during WW2. Do not miss this part of the tour. The White Cliffs of Dover were better than I expected. And not overrun with tourists. They were very quiet and I spent a lovely hour hiking to a lookout location and just staring out at the cliffs and the channel. Lots of cool birds here, too, such as the jackdaw. The gift shop was well equipped and staffed by some kind folks. Canterbury Catherdral, for me, was a bucket list item. Not near the top - but somewhere on the list. It's incredible and, for my money, a better experience by far than Westminster Abbey. This place feels like a real working church. And it is! The very fact that you cannot take photos in the crypt explains how serious they are about it. Which is a little unfortunate because the crypt has some lovely architecture. The whole of the cathedral is full of ancient tombs and it never ceases to amaze when you are looking at the tomb of someone who died 1000 years ago. My two criticisms of the day. First, Canterbury Cathedral, itself, is an incredible site to explore. However, the surrounding town is a little skeevy. All based in the tourist trade, as you can imagine. Plus, the place is absolutely teeming with vaping teenagers. My second criticism, as I alluded to, is for our guide, Sophie. She suggested Seafarer's for Fish and Chips and this was just a bad call. The place was not good. I had fish 3 times while in the UK and these were the worst, by far. Do not eat at Seafarer's. Try Fish Bros instead. Or really anyhere. Just do some research. Sorry Sophie. :) All in all, this excursion was one of my very favorite memories of my trip and I highly recommend it!

Steve was a wonderful tour guide with balance of sharing history and culture while allowing us to explore ourselves. It’s a full day to Dover and Canterbury but well worth it! A must do for England and history enthusiasts!
