Amazing experience full of history/ ghosts our tour guide Nick was fabulous kept us entertained throughout. 100% would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

This could be a super fun tour but the guide was going through the motions and was very unenthusiastic about his job. He clearly didn’t want to be there and it was evident his delivery of the tour. There are lots of spooky tour options—I wish I hadn’t picked this one.

Interesting. Fun. Dark. Spooky. Educational. The only truly negative thing to say is that, while the meeting address was specifically provided, Google Maps (and likely other apps) got us very "close" but didn't nail the spot. The further complication was that the businesses did not all fully display their street addresses, so we weren't able to definitively know we reached the exact meeting spot. The guide that evening did tell us people were missing, but that the tour needed to begin without them. I also can't really say that the guide frequently took a headcount to make sure people didn't get lost along the way.

Great haunted tour of old cemetery graves and spooky tales! Underground vaults were fascinating and not to be missed!

The tour was great! Historically accurate and entertaining. Didn't find it particularly spooky, but Stewart, our tour guide, weaved compelling stories that kept us all engaged. Would definitely recommend the tour. Especially if you've never experienced or know much about the Vaults. Be prepared to be dripped on. 💧

This trip was exactly what I needed. Louisa is incredibly entertaining.

Louisa was a fantastic guide!

There are tours you enjoy, tours you remember, and then there are experiences that completely change the way you see a city. Our tour of the Edinburgh Vaults with Louisa was the latter. Calling Louisa a “tour guide” almost feels inadequate. She is a storyteller, historian, performer, comedian, and at certain moments an absolutely terrifying human being. 😂 One minute we were completely absorbed in the history of Edinburgh, hanging on every word, and the next she would do something so unexpected that half the group nearly jumped out of their skin. And we loved every second of it. What made Louisa so extraordinary was her ability to make the history feel alive. These weren’t just dates, names, and stories about people who lived hundreds of years ago. Walking through the dark vaults with her, you could almost feel the Edinburgh of centuries past surrounding you. She made us laugh, shocked us more than once, occasionally scared the hell out of us, and somehow taught us an incredible amount along the way. By the end, we didn’t feel like we had simply toured the Edinburgh Vaults. We felt like we had been transported into another time and had come out understanding the city—and the people who lived beneath its streets—in an entirely different way. We’ve taken a lot of tours over the years, and most eventually blend together. This one won’t. If you have the opportunity to tour the Edinburgh Vaults, do yourself a favor: ask for Louisa. Don’t research too much beforehand. Don’t ask what she’s going to do. Just go along for the ride. You may scream. You will laugh. You’ll learn far more than you expected. And when you walk back out onto the streets of Edinburgh, I promise you’ll look at the city a little differently. Louisa, you were absolutely phenomenal. This wasn’t a tour. It was an experience.
