The cruise was great, we had beautiful weather which definitely helped! Russell was our guide and totally played on the vibe of the group. He asked if we just want to cruise and chat or if we wanted him to give us the tour, we opted for the tour! You can also order drinks for the tour from the restaurant, which was a nice surprise. I will be doing this tour again with friends and family.

We were the only people on the trip. Our captain was enthusiastic and knowledgable, but this was basically a 45 min round trip down the river past the Uni boathouses, which all looked pretty similar and were shuttered up. Perhaps we should have looked a little closer into the details but we saw nothing of the colleges and, apart from our driver, it was pretty dull. Not great value for money.

We thoroughly enjoyed our river cruise on a lovely, quiet electric boat, ably skippered and commentated by our friendly guide whose name I've forgotten. Even though we have been to Oxford many times and live nearby, we learnt a lot and found the commentary interesting (lots of history) and amusing, especially as our guide was previously a river manager and had lots of anecdotes to share. We recommend this trip.

An excellent trip with a very likeable and knowledgeable guide. We had a glass of wine too which was good quality too. Would recommend this trip.

Turned up without pre-booking so had to wait an hour as a full boat was just leaving. Walked along the towpath downstream and chatted to two groundsmen at Brasenose College before returning to board the electric powered boat with 6 others at midday. Our skipper was knowledgable and amusing, peppering the tour with history and anecdotes. The boat is very quiet with no engine fumes, and seating comfortable. Rugs were provided but not necessary (except for the Thais on board who are used to warmer weather). Reviews are influenced by expectations. This is a river trip seeing river edge stuff, eg rowing clubhouses, not a tour of historic colleges. Look at the map!

The booking process was easy and the confirmations gave great information regarding park and ride etc. We had a lovely gentle cruise along the river. Max, our guide was very informative ( he could possibly have spoken a little louder as my mum is a bit deaf but our bad, as we didn't say anything.) The boat was really comfortable, with blankets provided of it was chilly. A bonus was the 10% discount in the Folly restaurant. We had a lovely lunch in the calm and sunny dinning room. We booked separately as we couldn't eats 3 courses at lunch time. The food and service was very good. Great experience from start to finish.

What a lovely and relaxing 45 minutes! Our Captain, Mark was fun and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend making this river ride part of your visit. We enjoyed so much. Thanks Captain!

Fun boat trip with lots of info from our skipper Russell, but in the end only sailed back and forth on the Thames where the student associations also train and race. Wanted to see a bit more of Oxford.

We arrived early and were made very welcome. The cruise itself was brilliant and our skipper was very informative about people associated with the river such as Lewis Carroll and the university history. It was a small group and a good length of time.

Unusual view of Oxford. Great guide with lots of anecdotes. Charming way to spend an hour in the centre of Oxford and understand the madness of Oxford college rowing rivalry
