Book this one for the guiding, not just the access. We drew a cloudy, slightly rough day, and that is exactly when a guide earns the money. Nyle was great. The small group meant we were being shown things rather than herded, and she took us out further than we would ever have gone on our own. We saw plenty of fish despite the conditions. On a DIY visit we would have stayed near the shore, seen less, and probably blamed the weather. Credit is also due before you ever get in the water. The bay's entrance fee sits outside the Viator booking, and rather than leaving us to sort it out, Eva reached out ahead of time, arranged it, and confirmed it in writing. That is the sort of thing you only notice when an operator does not do it. A few practical notes. The conservation briefing is required on every visit, so build a few minutes into your arrival. The bay is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. And you can stay at the bay as long as you like once the tour ends, which is worth planning your day around. We would highly recommend this company to anyone visiting Oahu who wants to actually enjoy the bay.

This was a great experience. This was only our 3rd time snorkeling and the guide gave us great advice and showed us some good spots where we saw lots of fish (even the Hawaii State fish) and even a smaller turtle underwater. The guide let me go at my own pace swimming and kept in touch so I didn’t get lost. Highly recommended for everyone!!

Absolutely amazing! Definitely recommend doing this tour rather than just swimming and snorkeling on your own. We were able to go to deeper waters and the reefs and sea life were unreal. Nyle was amazing, she knew all the good spots to swim to. We saw beautiful reefs, sea turtles, and colorful fish. It was amazing.

We are so happy we booked this tour. Nyle was absolutely fantastic. She took us out further than 99% of people who visit Hanauma go. We saw some beautiful fish and a turtle. She had a boogie board with her that our 5-year-old was able to hold onto while my husband and I enjoyed swimming/snorkleing without worry. Highly recommend!

Nyle was an excellent tour guide. We have done snorkeling here before but this was our first time with a guide.. highly recommend to novice and seasoned snorkelers. We went o areas we had never been with the best reefs, fish, and big daddy the sea turtle paid us a visit.
