このツアーを始めるには、シェムリアップの町から南東に30km、Kampong Phlukまでドライブします。水上集落として知られていますが、それは厳密には有効ではありません。ここの家は浮いているのではなく、高床式の高台の上にあります。ここに住んでいる約700家族があり、彼らは100％民族クメールです。彼らは地元の漁業や農業によって生計を立てています。途中で、私たちは牛と水牛がいる田んぼを見るために美しい地元の村に立ち寄ります。 Kampong Phlukの家のほとんどは陸上にあり、モンスーンの季節に水が上がるときに洪水から守るために8mの高床式の上に建てられています。それらは、乾いた天候でも雨の天候でも耐久性のある特別な種類の木材でできています。主な家屋は木、ヤシの葉、錫の屋根でできています。水上養魚場、ワニ養殖場、ハウスショップ、移動式ボートショップもあります。訪れるべき氾濫した森林地帯もあります。ツアーは一年中ご利用いただけますが、乾季にはもう少し時間がかかります。

Seeing the floating village was unlike anything I have seen before. It was interesting to see how people live and learn about when the village is flooded and when it is dry.

The trip was really interesting and great to get an insight into life outside the city. Brilliant local guide (from a floating village himself) with excellent English and great sense of humour. Was lovely to speak to some of the local children and help them practise their English.
