I’ve wanted to do the Scranchester Eat the City tour for such a long time, and I’m so glad I finally did — it completely exceeded my expectations. Every food stop was excellent, but a particular highlight was our first stop at Fred’s and the Scotch egg. It’s something I would never normally order, but who knew… I’m now officially a Scotch egg convert! Rob was a brilliant host — warm, engaging and incredibly knowledgeable. As someone who’s really proud to be from Manchester and loves learning about the city’s history, I found it fascinating hearing so many stories and facts from someone who is Manchester born and bred. It was also lovely meeting the other people on the tour and experiencing the city in a completely different way. I’d highly recommend it to anyone thinking about booking. I enjoyed it so much that the Ancoats tour is next on my list! Thanks, Rob, for such a brilliant afternoon.

My friend and I did this tour early September 2026. It was absolutely superb. It started with a doughnut, I mean what could possibly go wrong after that. Nothing. Really good value for money, the food just kept coming and coming, also the historical bits between eating were really interesting. Pretty much 4 hours long and filled with delicious morsels. Our Guide Rob was super nice and knowledgeable too.

Just finished the Manchester tour with my friend. It was brilliant. Rob is so informative and we learnt so much about the city and it was really interesting and fun. We stopped at 6 different foliages for food and everything we ate was delicious and had a story connected to Manchester. Of course, as it’s in Manchester, we had a bit of rain but that didn’t negatively impact the tour at all. Highly highly recommend. We’re going to book again to do the Ancoats tour!

Had a brilliant afternoon wandering the Northern Quarter and surroundings guided by our friendly guide Rob. Though I'm a born and bred Mancunian I learned a lot from Rob about the history of the area, buildings and food. There was plenty to eat and drink on the tour and we are definitely looking forward to booking another in the coming months. A great laugh in a relaxed tour... if you're thinking about booking, just do it, you won't regret it!

Had a wonderful afternoon with Rob our guide. The food was really great. We went places we might miss and learnt a lot of really interesting things about the food, the area and its history. We would definitely go on another Scranchester tour. We went to places we will 100% visit again on our own. We stayed in town afterwards and made a night of it. A brilliant day out.

We've done 3 Scranchester tours - Explore Ancoats (with another couple, with Rob), Eat the City & Taste of Chinatown (as family with our 2 teenage sons, with Britta). They have each been brilliant. The guides are genuinely passionate about what they do, and are full of such interesting historical facts. The food choices were excellent too. I loved that they introduced things I’d never normally think to try, and every stop felt carefully chosen to showcase something unique about the city’s food culture. If you want a tour that’s entertaining, informative, and delicious, Scranchester is unbeatable. Highly recommended.

We had the best time on this tour! Britta was our tour guide and she was so warm and knowledgeable about the city. She showed us so many amazing things from art to architecture. The food was all fabulous and we were stuffed by the end. The other people on the tour were also lovely. Perfect way to spend half a day!

We had such a fantastic time on the Scranchester Eat the Streets food tour! It was the perfect mix of amazing food, local history and exploring parts of Manchester we’d never really appreciated before. Our host, Britta, was absolutely brilliant. She was so friendly, welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating stories about the Northern Quarter while making everyone feel relaxed and included. Her enthusiasm for Manchester and its food scene really shone through. The food was excellent, with a great variety across the five stops, and we came away full, having discovered some places we’d definitely return to. If you’re visiting Manchester, or even if you’re a local looking to see the city from a different perspective, I’d highly recommend this tour. A fun, relaxed and delicious way to spend a few hours.
