Not much historical knowledge. Guide was so nice but food was eh better to curate your own restaurants. Was very expensive in my view.

The restaurants and tastings are carefully curated by us and are places we genuinely consider local favorites, so we are disappointed to hear that the food did not appeal to you. This tour was excellent. Our guide was the best…fun to be with and knowledgeable about the local cuisine. The food was plentiful and delicious. We highly recommend this tour.
Our guide, Orestes, was fabulous. As a food scientist, he was knowledgeable not only in cooking and tasting but also why things were the way they were. As someone born and raised in Athens, he really knew the area, many of the people we encountered and had stories from his youth. Foods we tried included spanakopita, charcuterie meats and cheeses, greek salad. various cooked meats, honey and olive oil and loukoumades. This tour is especially recommended if this is your first visit to Athens.

Local Greek food family run businesses. Nothing fancy. Guide was local and competent. It was a different area than we would have explored ourselves.
