Booked this food tour to get our bearings in Athens, and it ended up being the best decision of the trip. Maria was fantastic as she clearly knows the food scene, the restaurants, and how the dishes are prepared. All the spots were clearly locally owned, not big chains or franchises. It felt less like a tour and more like walking around with a friend who happens to know everyone and everything on the menu. Maria went above and beyond even after the tour, when we reached out for recommendations based on what we’d told her we liked. We even ended up going back to a couple of the spots she’d shown us. If you like orienting yourself in a new city through food and local knowledge rather than checkbox sightseeing, this experience is exactly that.
Excellent food tour. We tried foods we would have not ordered on our own. Everything was delicious and Zeffe was a great guide.
We started our tour with a stop in a bakery; we each were given a spinich, cheese and a sweet pie….delicious! The second stop was a honey tasting with an interesting explanation of each type. The third stop was a deli with an assortment of meats, cheeses and olives. And the final stop was a delicious sit down lunch, the highlight of our tour. We then had dessert nearby. Our guide, Zeffie, was lovely and very informative.
So much fun with Christina and our group of 8! She picked great locations and kept us entertained with historical and personal stories. I highly recommend!!

Not much historical knowledge. Guide was so nice but food was eh better to curate your own restaurants. Was very expensive in my view.

Our tour is primarily designed as a food experience rather than a historical tour, although we do try to include some local history and cultural context along the way. The restaurants and tastings are carefully curated by us and are places we genuinely consider local favorites, so we are disappointed to hear that the food did not appeal to you. We have not often received this type of feedback regarding the food quality, but we appreciate your comments and will certainly take them into consideration as we continue to review and improve the experience we offer.
