島に着いたら、大階段を上って丘の上の修道院へ。 大食堂を散策し、頂上の石造りの教会を見学し、修道士が柱に彫刻した聖人や天使の細やかな姿を、音声ガイド付きでお楽しみいただけます。
モン・サン・ミシェルから車で戻り、パリへの帰りはリラックス。

It was advertised as a “guided tour” but in reality it was mainly just a bus ride with a ticket to the abbey, there was a guide that walked us through the village but we weren’t given any explanation or background about the history of the village, there wasn’t a human guided tour inside the abbey, we were told to download an app and then we listened to the audio guide, which was fairly good. You don’t actually get 4 full hours there, because it takes almost an hour from the parking lot to the shuttle stop and from there to the village then the abbey. You get one bathroom break during the ride (about 2.5 hr into the ride, and you have about 20-30 minutes break there).

The reward of experiencing Mont Saint Michel was well worth the somewhat long bus ride. Imene was a wonderful guide. The coaches used were comfortable and there were rest stops midway in each direction. That said, this trip is not suitable for folks with mobility issues. There are a lot of steep stairs to climb, some without handrails, to your the monastery.

Our Guide was Amira, she's a fun person. The tour was nice and efficient. It was a nice sunny day, turned out a bit hot at the end. The guide shared the story and background of the Normandy area. Initially I felt the 3.5hr would not be enough but it turned out to be enough as inside the church/castle you won't spend too much time. The bus was new, very well maintained and comfortable.

Long drive, the tour begins at 7 am and back to Paris at 9 pm. 4 hours going and 4 hours back. After 2 hours drive, There was a 15 mins break at a gas station/ truck stop where you can use the bathroom, get drinks and food. Surprisingly, It was extremely clean! The guide asked us to downloaded an app in the phone where you can listen to a little summary about Mont st Michel. Then she gave us an intro of the place. Once we arrived, she rode with us on the free tram and showed us where the steps are to get to the Abby. We then are free on our own. We need to Be back at 3:30pm. We got about 3.5 hours. Luckily, our group was very small and everything went smoothly.

It was a very good experience; everything worked well, clear starting point, very comfortable and safe bus, and a guide very willing to share and answer questions. While it is scary when they leave you at the entrance of the abbey, everything is clear and works out in the end. The place looks like it is from a story; the photos from the base complement those from the top of the Abbey. What impresses the most is the place and its features.
