It was okay. The crowding inside made the experience less enjoyable. The guide seemed knowledgeable but it was not easy to hear even with the earpiece.

So appreciate the history of Versailles, but found the tour booked through Viator given my The Tour Guy to be a disappointment. The overwhelming crowds detracted significantly from the ability to see or enjoy the site. At several points, the crowd shuffled to tightly pass through doorways, packed shoulder to shoulder. Sorry, but found the tour itself to be sophomoric. Much of the information was repeated throughout the tour and the history was mostly superficial. We had a very different experience with The Tour Guy at the Vatican in Rome, where the guide shared her life long love the Vatican with intimate details, observations and enlightening insights. While the guide at Versailles was gracious, lovely, the content just wasn't there. Beyond that, I'm not sure any tour guide could have made up for the extreme overcrowding at 11am on a Tuesday in mid-September, a day when the Louvre in Paris is closed. Perhaps another day and time would circumvent this fundamental flaw.

I had a wonderful experience visiting Versailles with our guide, Emid. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging, and he made the history of Versailles really interesting and easy to understand. The tour was well organized, and Emid shared many fascinating stories and details that made the visit even more memorable. I really enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Versailles!
