The 40-minute taxi ride from the center of Budapest was worth it. We never saw as many airplanes from the inside as we did here. With super friendly people answering questions in perfect English. Some very interesting pieces. A shame that we went during the week when the flight simulators are not working

Tell your airport taxi driver to drop you off here!
A 14:20 return flight to the UK left a slot open to fill an hour or two after a gentle start to the day.
My friend suggested this to fill the gap,and I'm glad he did!
We didn't have time for the 'extras' such as flight simulators, nor the Terminal 2 apron tour, which all sound interesting.
We were, however, extremely lucky to have a retired pilot explain his experience of flying some of the aircraft to us. It is equally sad, that so many personal stories will soon lost.
My friend and I already plan a longer re-visit to experience the flight simulator and apron tour!
If, like me, you have a vague interest in how things work this is well worth a visit, especially if you have a tour guide!

A must for aviation enthusiasts.
We tagged this on to our last day on a visit to Budapest and were very glad that we did. To get there we took the bus to the airport from there a paved path links you past the car parks to the airpark.
On display are a selection of aircraft many of which are from the former Hungarian airline "Malev". It would have possible to get right up close to the aircraft anyway but on the day of our visit it was national museums day. Because of that there were extra activities going on and all the aircraft were attended by airpark staff who allowed you onboard to look around and try the drivers seat! Viewing the exhibits from the viewpoint of someone familiar with western aircraft it was very interesting to see the differences between the East and West technologies.

Excellent museum. Open all year round, visit now.
Definitely open, see website for times. A 10 min walk on an easy footpath from main airport terminal.A wonderful collection of old aircraft from the 1970s and earlier plus lots of more recent ground equipment . Almost nowhere else has these aircraft. Super friendly guides, we were given a detailed tour by the very knowledgeable Peter. Nice little shop with lots of aviation items.

Amazing experience!
Located just beside Terminal 2 on Budapest International Ferenc Liszt Airport. You can come by your vehicle and park for free in front of the Museum, or come by bus Airport Express 100E, 200E, and then walk about 10 minutes from the terminal. The bus Airport Express 100E ticket is 2500 HUF (6.6 EUR) from the Budapest Center in one direction.
Aeropark is an open-air aviation museum located near to Ferenc Liszt International Airport in Budapest, Hungary. It is dedicated to the history of Hungarian civil aviation and includes numerous aircraft types flown by the now-defunct national airline Malév.
Aeropark also features a flying simulator for tourists, as well as a souvenir shop filled with plane models and Malév memorabilia.
Most of Aeropark's aircrafts are wheelchair-accessible.
Ticket price for the Aeropark Museum is 3200 HUF (8.3 EUR) for adults, and 2000 HUF (5.2 EUR) for children and seniors.
The exhibition covers nearly the entire history of Hungarian public aviation over the last 70 years, from the Li-2 to the Tu-154, which was in service until the turn of the millennium, and the L-410, which is still operational today, as well as an Airbus A320neo simulator and numerous pieces of airport ground service equipment.
You can stay as much as you like, but plan minimum 2 hours.
Staff is ready to help you and to open the cockpit on most of the planes, and you can ask them anything. They are very nice, polite and know English language.
We recommend this attraction to everyone!

Not worth the Time and Money
This activity is not at all Tourist Friendly. There was nothing written in English, everything in Hungarian. There was not even an Audio Guide. People were having a attitude and there is not even a tour. This price is only price of entrance. The activities inside the Museum have another price. Also this Museum is outside of the city. So please save your time and money and visit something within the City.

Nice collection of old planes, as well as a simulator flight!
The collection of numerous old planes, most of which can also be entered, as well as a TU-134 simulator, make the Aeropark worth seeing!
The simulator flight was very interesting, we were well looked after!

If you are an aviation fan, you can take a look at the 200 E stop from the airport hall, if you walk for about 20 minutes, there is a little emptiness next door, but some walkways can go.
It's good, there are about 20 aircraft and three can be visited, large luggage can be borrowed from the souvenir shop. There are many Hungarian emperors to make aircraft and passenger aircraft. I personally like helicopters, so I took some pictures of helicopters.

Budapest Aeropark - If you are into Aviation go there
One of the best Aviation Museums in Europe. There are 18 airframes here but they are all accessible, well presented and to a Western european visitor have high rarity value. The Li-2, Il-14 and Kamov are superb the Li -2 having original interior and beautifully preserved. The museum staff are friendly and very knowledgeable (not something you find everywhere) and deserve support. If you can plan ahead (at least 4 days) you can arrange a tour of the nearby airport - which include AIRSIDE and the airport although not the busiest has some fabulous visitors. 10/10 for this
