Great half-day trip from Athens. Drive to Cape Sounion was picturesque and smooth. Once you arrive at the temple site, there is a longer route around where you can get pictures of the ocean, and then a shorter, more direct route up to the temple. I took the longer route and enjoyed it immensely. The day I went was cloudy so couldn't get that money shot, but sitting there taking in the setting sun at such a beautiful archaeological site was 100% worth it.
Very windy but magnificent place, impressive ruins that make the sunset magical.
Awesome value for money Alex was awesome, funny and knowledgeable with interesting information. Driver Ares I believe his name was was excellent navigating tight windy roads! Bus was clean with air conditioning, and seating not crowded. Would absolutely do again!

This is a must-do activity while in Athens. Vicki was a fantastic tour guide, the bus ride was such a nice way to see the riviera, and one of the best sunsets is at the temple of Poseidon.

Panos is an excellent bus driver and Anna gave excellent summaries of Greek history, customs and mythology. My daughter loved the location for taking photos and watching the sunset.
We didn’t realize how popular the sunset at Poseidon was, but it was still a memorable experience. Our tour guide, Vicki, was amazing and so knowledgeable; she was a delight. We were happy that there was a place to eat before experiencing the sunset. We think the entrance to the actual archeological site was a little high, but that is not the fault of the tour company.
The ride was pleasant and scenic rout. Get ready for 1.5h. The bus tour guide was pleasant with interesting stories and engaging. On sight there is a cafe so I would start with that. You really only need to come up to the temple about 20-30 min before the sunset, depending on how many people are getting in. The while thing is just a walk up the ruins and around while you watch the sunset. However, there is something mystical in that experience, DESPITE crowds, photos, instagram thingies and such. I highly recommend this trip. Kids loved it too.
Great transport to Poseidon! Well worth the trip at sunset. It was truly spectacular and very reasonable.
