I think for the money, you can’t pack the vans with so many people and then have no air on a hot day. It was just completely unreasonable. The premium charged over the ticket prices is clearly for the transportation. They also did not work through the colosseum closure very well. Poor communication. Two stars because the catacomb tour guide was great.
My wife and I had a wonderful experience on this tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly which made the tour more enjoyable.

Cristina was a wonderful guide—engaging and knowledgeable, but also very respectful of different beliefs as she brought the history of early Christianity to life. She had a real gift for teaching rather than preaching, which made the Catacombs especially interesting. One gentle warning from our experience: if only part of your group is continuing to the Colosseum, make sure the names on the tickets match the people going—we accidentally sent Greg and Stephanie with tickets in our names, and they couldn’t get in.
We bought the tour for the catacombs and colosseum including seeing under the colosseum. It wound up being through Show Me Italy. Our “tour guide” was nice, but spoke so quietly I can’t tell you her name. All she did was arrange a driver to take us to the Domitilla catacombs (where she handed us to an actual guide, and that was good) then arrange a driver to take us to the colosseum, where she handed us our tickets and said “Bye!” We had no guide at the colosseum. We did not get to see underneath the colosseum. Overall, extremely disappointed in this tour and unhappy we paid so much for an experience we didn’t get to have.

We understand that you may have expected a different type of Colosseum experience, but the services provided were in accordance with the option selected. The Roman Catacombs was really fun and worth it. The fee wasn't too bad if you go with a family of 4. It was a bit short but the reason is valid. The deeper you go it's cold which is nice and the walls and artifacts amazing. A decent crowd size so no pushing or squeezing in. The staff was very nice and helpful with answering questions. They gave us a very good tour.

The visit to the catacombs was informative and well worth it. The tunnels were amazing to see. After the catacombs, we toured the Colosseum which was also amazing! We couldn’t do the Forum/Paladtne Hill in the same day, but were happy the ticket was good for 24 hours, as we came back the next day, refreshed!

Nice tour overall. If you're claustrophobic, this may not be the best tour for you as you explore the cave and tight spaces.
