Juan was a fantastic guide. He’s so knowledgeable about hiking and the mountains of Spain. It was so interesting talking to him about his different adventures and outdoor sports. Our group had a wide range of hiking ability - I was definitely the weakest link. But he never made me feel like I was dragging down the group or making us late with our time schedule. He was very supportive of my slow progress. All that said, I was under the impression that this was an easy to moderate hike. Ehh, I would say it’s solidly a moderate hike. Pretty steep going up and I was really nervous about all the stairs going down - very proud that I finished it.

Our tour guide, Juan, was so knowledgeable and made our experience a great one! He showed us around the beautiful monastery and expertly guided us through a wonderful hike.

A great experience. Our guide Ramon was the best. Super knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and loved being there on the trails. He was well versed in the history of Montserrat and surrounding areas including Barcelona. His experience overseas gave him a very strong handle of English allowing him to easily communicate with our group. It was definitely a challenging hike. The incline is significant at parts and pace can be challenging if the rest of your group is fast. But it was a very good sweat and enjoyed being with nature. The monastery history was interesting. It was fascinating how early hermits settled the mountain which eventually led to consolidation and eventual formation of the monastery. The market on the outside was great and offered numerous free samples. I would definitely recommend this to anyone coming to Barcelona.

We had a great experience and this was one of my favorite days on our trip to Spain. Our guide was great and so nice. He stopped to take breaks when we needed. The hike is a little steep, but not too bad if you were in decent shape. It was really amazing to see the views from all the different angles. I would recommend this to anyone.

Worth taking a day to go outside of Barcelona to see these beautiful mountains and the surrounding area the tour guide was very knowledgeable about the historical sites the hiking trails, the local nature and history of the area 10 out of 10 recommend.

My family and I had the pleasure of completing this hike around Monserrat with Bernardo. We are a group of 5, ages 11-48 yo. The hike took around 3h and Bernardo was a very knowledgeable mountain guide. We were able to see some beautiful views and he really knew the area like the back of his hand. The hike is on some flatter paved areas but also some small rocky paths and then you descend down A LOT of steps. Definitely bring water and Bernardo even had an umbrella for any unshaded, hotter areas. Overall, my family told me we logged 12,000+ steps on the hike and we loved it. Thank you.

Our guide (Bernard) was knowledgeable and friendly. I liked the small size of the group. The hike was easy/moderate, and we always got more information in shaded areas, which gave us a chance to cool off and learn more about the area and its history. Highly recommend!

Jone was super knowledgeable about nature and the history of the monastery. I would definitely recommend this trip!

This was an amazing tour! I never would have been able to see Monserrat on my own — so having a guide drive us, explain to us the history, and show us around the monastery was well worth it! Our hiking portion was canceled by park rangers because it was too hot and dry (fire danger), but our guide made the most of our time. I went solo and made a new friend to hang out with after the tour, which was fun!
