Our guide Aja was so knowledgeable and had such a chilled vibe that we felt we were having lunch with friends instead of just on a food tour. I live in southern Cali and visit SD often but I learned so many new details about its origin and now I look at it differently. The food was 10/10 delicious?

This tour is great if you’re looking to sample some of the local food. While learning a little history of the Gaslamp district Aja was an amazing guide. She is very knowledgeable and made this a most memorable experience.

Lydia was an amazing tour guide! From clear communication and detailed instructions personally delivered the day before the tour, to her extensive knowledge of San Diego history conscientiously delivered in the most shaded and breezy areas available to us on a warm summer day, to her warm and approachable personality, I was truly charmed by her spritely energy and enthusiasm. You can tell she enjoys her job and that carries so much weight in my book when it comes to tour guides! I was impressed how seamlessly the food arrived right after we were seated, and Lydia kept the flow of the tour moving at just the right pace to enjoy our experience without any drawn out lulls. Thank you Lydia for being such a cool guide! 😎 Oh…and the food? Soooo good! Great choices! Even the locals that came on the tour were happy and we all shared things family style when choices were available to maximize our opportunity to taste different things! I was impressed with the vegetarian options that I might not have tasted otherwise, so don’t knock it until you’ve tried it! I do love meat, but I must add that my standout dishes ended up being the vegetarian ones 🌱 I would totally return to those spots for more of those! Do yourself a favor and don’t hesitate to book this tour! Whether you are local or visiting, they really know their stuff at Sidewalk Food Tours and you just might learn some amazing things about San Diego in the most delicious way! 🤩 My tastebuds just took a tour around the world! A great introduction to the Gas Lamp area with a diverse array of food! Our guide was very informative and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Our guide Stefano was wonderful- personable, funny and knowledgeable. We enjoyed each stop as well as the San Diego history and info. The food was all excellent and we got a great taste if San Diego. A really great experience.

This was so fun and great for families, including children! We had Lydia L as our tour guide and she was fabulous! We went to 5 spots and tried great food and it was an awesome way to see the gaslamp district. The pretzel bagel with cheddar cheese spread was my fave the entire day!!

We had a great time with our tour guide Noah! He was very knowledgeable on the history of the city + very personable. I would 100% do a tour from the company again in another city, I thought the entire thing was very well thought out and had a good mix of walking / eating. This tour would be appropriate for people of ages and physical abilities. They were also willing to be accommodating to dietary preferences (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free). I would recommend arriving early at the coffee shop and enjoying a delicious drink before starting the tour! The bagels were the BEST!

Our guide Aja was wonderful. Knowledgeable, organized, energetic and kind. A perfect guide. The historical walk was interesting and she paced it perfectly as we walked through the colorful gas lamp area; enjoyed that. The food was plentiful, but extremely common. Bagels with cream cheese, pita and hummus with chicken, Thai eggrolls/dumoling/salad, a Cuban empanada and ice cream-cream (a fun stop with dozens of flavors). I wish I had read the description a bit more closely. I would have loved to learn about any more regional, specific food trends in San Diego. I think if there was more a theme to the tastings it could be more meaningful. It was some of this, some of that from mostly emtier restaurants.
