Thierry was our guide and he was terrific. He was both super knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and we came away from the tour with a really good sense of the context of the Omaha invasion, Pointe du Hoc and the American cemetery as well. Lots of good anecdotes and stories too. Highly recommend. Thank you Thierry!
Excellent tour. Thierry was a passionate and knowledgeable guide. Very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Brings history to life! Great guide - super knowledgeable about the Omaha sector. Impactful with the sites visited
My family of 4 recently booked a half-day tour with Overlord Tours and it was a total bucket-list success that did not disappoint! From start to finish, the tour was incredibly well-coordinated and flowed seamlessly. We specifically appreciated the small tour size and the comfortable van, which made for a much more personal and manageable experience. A huge thank you to our guide, Lucas, and our driver, Stephane. Lucas was fantastic—his historical insights were deep and informative, and I truly appreciated how respectful he was of the location and the gravity of the area. In hindsight, if I had to do it again, I would definitely opt for the full-day tour. The experience was so engaging that I could have easily spent more time at each location to soak it all in. If you are debating between the two, go for the full day—you won't regret it! I highly recommend Overlord Tours to anyone looking for a thoughtful, professional, and well-managed tour experience. Thank you, Lucas and Stephane, for making this such a highlight of my trip!
Great experience and well worth it. It was a small group with Lucas Stephane as the guide, who was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had and then some. We had plenty of time to walk around and take this place in and the length of the trip was perfect for what we needed. Omaha Beach was very emotional to say the least, perfectly set up as well. Just seeing the graves and the care that is given to this cemetery left a lasting impression.
We chose this because of the shorter duration. Our guide Lucas was excellent and full of information that was new to us.
Truly a context-heavy experience~ My guide is so charismatic and keeping me engaged through the whole trip, filled me with context of everything I will see before I step foot into the spot^ As someone who studies history & visits tons of historical battle spots, this is huge wishlist fulfilled^^
We had an extraordinary guide, who actually had a grandfather who fought during WWII We happen to be there on VE day so it was even more special for us as my husband‘s father had fought a D-Day. OurGuide shared stories the entire time we were with him and it was hard to say goodbye as he was such an excellent guide my highest recommendation.
Great tour. The guide, Jean, gave us a great rundown of D-Day while we drove through Normandy and toured various related sites. Jean was knowledgeable and answered every question we had for him. Awesome experience.
I would like to say that our guide for the tour knew more about the history of the Second World War than my children. I’m a seventy year old from Massachusetts and I must say that our tour guide Lucas was very impressive. I think it’s a shame that Americans have to come to France to know and learn the sacrifices that ours and other countries made to give us the freedoms we seem to take for granted.
