We spent time deep in the jungles of Panama visiting the Emberá community with our wonderful guide Ruben. We traveled by canoe along the Chagres River, the same river that helps supply water to the Panama Canal to reach the village. Once there, we enjoyed a fresh lunch, learned about the community’s traditions and way of life, and had the opportunity to experience a culture that has preserved so much of its history and heritage. Ruben is a wonderful guide. His knowledge of the Panamanian heritage, sites and welcoming spirit made us feel like family. We will definitely be back and look forward to sharing more Panamanian experiences with Ruben.
