We were very lucky to have Louis all to ourselves. After a short shopping tour through the neighborhood, where Louis bought local specialties for us, we then continued to a nice little wine shop, where we tasted red and white wine together with the fine Lyonnais delicacies in a perfect atmosphere. It was a fantastic experience to realize which type of wine harmonized perfectly with which products, or, for that matter, did not at all! Louis explained a lot to us about the wine, the local specialties, and how it comes about that certain things go well together or not. In doing so, he also taught us many helpful tips on how pairing works at home as well! We found it a wonderful experience and can only recommend it to anyone who not only wants to get an insight into the culinary arts of Lyon, but also wants to challenge their taste buds a bit!

Our tour guide and new friend, Louis, was exceptional! Saying he was knowledgeable is an understatement. He walked us through local routes of Lyon, explaining the history and also local cultural information. He was incredibly personable, walked with our pace, and made us feel immersed. He guided us to the best fromagerie and butcher shop, where he selected the most popular choices and he also asked us our preferences as well. We ended up at the most beautifully intimate cellar where we enjoyed our charcuterie. Louis walked us through how to pair specific wines with certain cheeses, he is a true sommelier! We ended up leaving with full bellies, full hearts, and a grocery bag full of wine and other goodies. We would come back to Lyon, just to do this tour again! 10/10 experience!

Our tour guide, Louis, was seriously the best. He was so informed of the ins and outs of Lyon. He took us to places that weren’t so crowded and we ended the tour with an intimate charcuterie and wine pairing experience. I reccommend you book this tour immediately! Louis was so knowledgeable about wine, a true Sommelier!!! He walked us through how to pair different wines with different cheeses and meats. We were left in awe! Louis was so personable and kind. He walked with our pace and made us feel like friends each step of the way. Please book!

We had so much fun on this tour! Louis is very personable and knowledgeable about wine pairings. Loved that it was a just our small group and Louis took his time with us and let us enjoy everything. Highly recommended!

Great afternoon with Louis! We discovered a huge amount of things and had a great time!

Louis was amazing! From the walk through the city and thorough explanations of its history, to showing us its boutique and special gastronomy throughout - it was so special. We were then educated about wine and how to pair it with the selected foods. He was so knowledgeable and we found it so easy to learn and understand the information he presented. If you are visiting Lyon, this is worth your time and money if you’re looking for something that is dedicated to the city and its history - but without the tourist traps! Thank you Louis, we hope to be back!

Could not have been a better experience. We were able to try and pair half a dozen cheeses, a few charcuteries, and some pastries. Learned some history as well. Great time, 10/10.
