A wonderful excursion in Athens
We had a fabulous excursion trip with Tony in Athens. He picked us up at our cruise ship, and took us off for a grand time at the Acropolis and the Parthenon. Before we arrived at our destination, Tony gave us detailed and very interesting information using a 3-D book that showed us what was in antiquity compared to what is now. He described the different historical periods and how they brought about much of the destruction. After we were done with that tour, he took us for a ‘break,’ a quite wonderful Greek tradition. We had cappuccino frido (sp?), iced cappuccino, and Tony encouraged us to drink slowly, saying the coffee is like a companion. The idea is to sit and talk, with family or friends, taking a sip here and there, so the coffee, the break, lasts. We had a great conversation, learning more about Greece and life there. We opted out of lunch, because we were a bit tired at the that point (our first day since our flight), and he drove us around, showing us other highlights, including the Agora, where we got out of the car and explored a bit. We both felt very lucky to have Tony as our driver and guide because of his knowledge, his warmth, and the ease of conversation. I recommend booking Athens Soul Travel for an experience that will treat you to a wonderful Athens local, who shares so historical and contemporary information, is an excellent driver (no small feat, given the narrow streets), and good conversationalist.

Athens tour experience
We had an outstanding experience on this tour, and everything was wonderful! Since we only had a short time before our cruise departure, efficiency was key. Our guide, Antonis, was incredibly knowledgeable, fun, and thorough. The hotel pickup was perfectly prompt, and the tour wrapped up with a seamless drop-off right at our cruise terminal. We will definitely be recommending this tour to others!

Excellent introduction to top sites in Greece
Excellent way to spend the day (1/2 the day) and great introduction to Greece’s most important historical sites. Antony perfectly balanced a lot of historical information with a great, fun personality. It was incredible what we were able to see and learn about in such a short time. He also geared the trip to the things most important to us and went out of his way to make it a fun and memorable time.

We had the pleasure of doing a day tour with our wonderful guide, Antonis. He took us to a number of sites within and around the city. The passion he has not only for history but the city and country itself was on full display as he filled our knowledge banks with facts, figures, Greek mythology, and current events. Athens Tour
We were picked up promptly at the port in a nice clean vehicle and driven to the various sights on our tour. Our guide was very friendly and explained much of the history behind the sights as we were dropped off (he didn’t accompany us on at any of the sights). Once we toured the various sights by ourselves, we would call and our guide would come to pick us up and take us to the next site. Our guide had pre-purchased tickets to the main attraction (the Acropolis) and we reimbursed those but you need to make sure you have cash as they must be paid in cash. Be prepared to do a lot of walking and expect large crowds everywhere.

We would, however, like to clarify one point regarding the three-star rating. From your own comments, it appears that everything went smoothly: you had no issues with our driver, our vehicle, our service, or the organization of the tour. We are therefore a little surprised that the overall experience with Athens Soul Travel was rated with only three stars.
As clearly explained on our website, our itinerary specifies that our driver accompanies you between the sites but does not enter the archaeological sites with you, as he is not an official licensed guide. The crowds, heat, traffic, and the amount of walking required at Athens' archaeological sites are also factors beyond our control and are not related to the service provided by our company.
We truly appreciate your feedback, but we feel that the three-star rating does not reflect the experience you actually had with Athens Soul Travel. Nevertheless, we wish you all the best and hope to welcome you back to Athens one day, when we would be happy to show you another side of our beautiful city, perhaps better suited to your expectations.
