I think we were just scammed. The tour operator changed the tour details to an 18km hike in very warm weather, as opposed to the "short" trek mentioned in the description. My friend had surgery and a bad ankle which means this was not a good idea. They still didn't want us to cancel and said "look! Other people are doing this today!" which had no bearing on the fact that one person in our party had a medical condition that did not allow them to do such a strenuous hike. The pickup/dropoff service is not included in your tour cost. We were asked pay out of pocket for a driver to come and get us in Candolim. We found all of this out within 24 hours of the tour which means we were outside of the free cancelation period. I wouldn't recommend this tour or tour operator strictly because they are not honest nor an upfront tour service. I had to ask multiple times if the 18km were on foot and it took me while to get a straight answer from them.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry that the experience did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify the circumstances for future guests. During the monsoon season, the Jeep Safari is not available due to safety and forest/route restrictions. As clearly mentioned in the tour inclusions and explained to you over the phone, the Dudhsagar tour is conducted by trekking only during this period. We also shared the relevant details with you before proceeding, and the booking process was started only after you confirmed that you were comfortable with the arrangement. For safety reasons, we cannot compromise on the applicable monsoon restrictions or arrange the Jeep Safari when it is not permitted. The trek involves approximately 18 km of walking in total, and guests with medical conditions, recent surgery, mobility limitations, or difficulty with strenuous walking should consider these requirements carefully before booking. Regarding transportation, pickup/drop-off arrangements and their applicable charges were also communicated as part of the booking discussion. The intention was never to mislead you or hide any tour conditions. We understand that your friend's medical condition made the trek unsuitable. If this had been communicated before the booking was confirmed, we could have discussed the available options at that stage. Unfortunately, once tickets and arrangements had been purchased and the booking was confirmed, a last-minute change of plan could not be accommodated under the applicable cancellation conditions. We respectfully disagree with the suggestion that the tour details were changed or that you were scammed. The monsoon trekking arrangement was communicated before confirmation and was part of the applicable tour conditions. We nevertheless regret that the experience was unsuitable for your group and appreciate your feedback, as it helps us make the tour information even clearer for future guests.
