Went with a couple of friends and we had an absolute blast. The energy at Damnoen Saduak floating market was so lively with all the colorful boats and local vendors. Watching the train horn blow as it rolled through the Maeklong market was definitely the standout moment for us. Highly recommend doing this!

Such a unique Thai market experience!
Standing right next to the tracks when the train slowly passed through Maeklong was incredible it’s crazy how quickly the vendors move their produce out of the way! After that, hopping on the private boat at the floating market was super relaxing. We got to try some delicious local snacks right from the river stalls. Loved every bit of it!

Good way to see both markets and Ayutthaya
Doing the markets and Ayutthaya in one day saved us a lot of time. Watching the train comes right past the stalls was a really unique experience, and the temple ruins were great to walk around. Our guide looked after us well and kept things running smoothly. The local spot we stopped at for lunch was genuinely tasty.

Saw so much in a single day
Such a full day, but everything went very smoothly. Started at the markets in the morning and finished at the old temple ruins in Ayutthaya. Seeing the famous Buddha head in the tree roots was definitely a highlight. Highly recommend.

Fun mix of local life and history
Really liked the variety on this trip. You get the buzz and delicious street food at the markets in the morning, and then a nice, quiet stroll around the historic temples in the afternoon. Everything was super well organized. Highly appreciated the guide and driver service.

Full day excursion with a coconut bonus
Great to fit so much into one day. Very knowledgeable guide who answered all of our questions and expanded where necessary. It was a shame that a lot of the floating market was closed due to very high water levels due to the huge amounts of rain a couple of days previously (risk when visiting during the rainy season).
The only down side was the lengthy journey between the floating market and Ayutthaya which cannot be avoided due to the physical distance between the two. However, this was nicely broken up by an additional visit to a cocunut processing display on the roadside.

Thank you very much for your thoughtful review. We’re glad you enjoyed the tour and found your guide knowledgeable.
The floating market is not only a tourist attraction but also part of the local canal-side way of life. As the Damnoen Saduak canal system connects the Mae Klong and Tha Chin rivers, seasonal high water can occasionally affect market activity, especially during the rainy season.
Thank you again for your understanding, and we’re happy the coconut stop helped make the journey more enjoyable.

Three Experiences in One Day
What surprised me was how much variety there was. One minute we were standing beside a railway line waiting for the train, later we were moving through canals, and by the afternoon we were walking among centuries-old ruins. Ayutthaya was the part I knew least about before coming, but it ended up being one of the most interesting stops. We stayed until later in the day and the sunset over the old temples was a really nice way to finish the trip.

Markets First, History Later
The morning felt lively from the start. Maeklong was packed with people waiting beside the tracks, and seeing the train squeeze through the market was something I won’t forget. The boat at Damnoen Saduak gave us time to sit back, browse and grab some food. By the time we reached Ayutthaya, the mood changed completely. Old brick ruins, Buddha statues and quiet temple grounds made the second half of the day feel almost like another trip.

Ayutthaya Was My Favourite
The train market was fun, the floating market was nice to see by boat, and Ayutthaya was a great place. Our guide explained things clearly and took good care of us. The sunset over the old temples was beautiful.

Phone cameras everywhere when the train pulled in!
You could feel the hype in the air as everyone raised their phones to record the train passing right in front of us. Such a cool atmosphere! Extending the trip to see Ayutthaya afterwards made the day even better a great mix of market buzz and ancient history.
