This trip was good BUT the other one Day trip to Akaroa was cancelled by the booking agent in Christchurch, did NOT notify us and we re waiting for over 2 hours in Novotel lobby. We have a very efficient manager who made a few phones including one to USA arranged a refunded for us and re booked with other agent. Added cost plus GST and we could not see the Hector Dolphins and the boat was fully booked by then. Bad experience Please refunde our dues and do not use that company again EVER. You will get the very bad reviews and name !!!!

However, we would like to clarify that the issues mentioned regarding the Akaroa day trip cancellation, dolphin tour, refund, and rebooking are not related to our tour company. We have never cancelled your booking, and we do not operate or sell the Akaroa tour or Hector Dolphins cruise mentioned in your review. It appears there may have been confusion with another tour operator. To avoid misleading future tourists, we kindly ask that you review the details and, if possible, update or move this review to the correct company. That said, we do appreciate your comment that “this trip was good” regarding our Christchurch Scenic Private Tour, and we are glad you enjoyed that experience. Thank you.

Today I was lucky enough to be on this to with a wonderful human being called Lee. I was by myself. It was the best afternoon spent and he took me to places that you never really think of when you’re planning a tour of Christchurch. It was simply amazing and he’s very knowledgeable. James was a lovely fellow, but sadly his local knowledge of Christchurch was lacking. We had to ask him a number of times to slow down his driving. The length of the trip was fine, and he was very kind and chatted to us.
A nice tour of Christchurch and surrounds. Some beautiful views of the city. We especially like the beach with volcanic rocks and the botanical garden. Our guide was very accomodating.

First, Geordie was our driver and he was very personable, was on time and kept in contact with us before the tour to make sure we knew where to meet. The issue we have is with the owner of this business. If you are looking for someone who is knowledgeable about where you are going on the tour, then this not the tour company to use. I don’t think we’re the first ones to mention that their ‘tour guides’ are not really ‘guides’. Evidently, they are instructed to drive the clients around to the places, drop us off and pick us up to take to the next place. Also, they had four adults swished into a Jeep Cherokee, which was very uncomfortable. Again, I don’t believe this is the driver’s fault, it’s evidently what they are paid to do. I wasn’t expecting a private tour, but we did expect to be in a comfortable vehicle. We’ve done several tours on Viator, and this has been the most disappointing.

Our tours are designed to offer comfortable transport and an enjoyable overview of Christchurch, which almost all the travelers appreciated so far. However, we understand that this style may not suit everyone. We wish you all the best with your future travels. Additionally, We would like to clarify the situation regarding your tour. At the time of your booking, this was arranged as a private tour with our guide James. However, due to unforeseen personal circumstances, James was unable to work on that day. As a result, your tour was reassigned and combined with another small group. Importantly, you were informed of this change in advance within the cancellation window and were asked whether you would be comfortable joining another group, with an adjusted pickup time 30 minutes earlier. You acknowledged this arrangement at the time. Given that you were made fully aware of the change beforehand and chose to proceed with the tour, it is not accurate to suggest that this information was withheld.
Pleasant way to spend our last morning in New Zealand. James (driver) picked us ( and our luggage) up from hotel and showed us the sites of ChristChurch, then dropped us off at airport. Very nice and pleasant driver.

This was a great way to spend an afternoon and see Christchurch! We especially loved the Botanic Gardens by the Avon River - it was stunning and peaceful. Yong was knowlegable and personable and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with him.
