We had a wonderfull time with out guide Hassan, who put some really big effort in watching a mom shoebill feeding her chick. Everything went great and Hassan explained everything about the shoebill very clearly. We would love to come back some day to watch these beautiful creatures again.
I had an absolutely amazing experience visiting Mabamba Swamp to see the shoebill in the wild. Hassan was an incredible guide – friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the wildlife. He explained so much along the way and showed me not only the shoebill, but also many other beautiful bird species. Everything was perfectly organized, from the pick-up at the harbor in Entebbe to the boat ride and the change to a smaller boat for exploring the swamp. Most importantly, Hassan made it possible for me to see a shoebill in its natural habitat – an unforgettable experience and definitely one of the highlights of my time in Uganda. He also took photos and videos of me during the trip, which was really appreciated and gave me some great memories to take home. I can highly recommend Hassan to anyone visiting Entebbe and wanting to experience Mabamba Swamp and its incredible wildlife. Thank you, Hassan, for such a fantastic day!
I went on a tour with Hassan on July 2026. He is an expert on birds and finding shoebills. He gave interesting information regarding the different birds of the swamp, and there are plenty! Its a bird - lover paradise. If going, do it only with Hassan!
