Julia of Women in Manchester gives a fabulous tour! I had a wonderful time. Julia did a great job getting people to participate in the tour, so we all had a lot of fun together, and we learned a lot, both from Julia and from each other. Excellent contribution to my knowledge of the history of Manchester. Great tour to do solo.
Julia was well informed and passionate about women in Manchester. She introduced us to lots of inspiring local women some more well known than others and was happy to answer any questions.
Julia was an amazing guide! 🤩 The tour was very insightful and introduced me to the stories of so many inspiring women that I probably wouldn’t have discovered through other tours. It was a pleasure to spend 2 hours with Julia on her first Women of Manchester Walking Tour. We learnt about some amazing ladies who worked hard to improve the lives of other women. Julia described these ladies and their actions very articulately and used large copies of photographs to back up the stories. What a great way to see Manchester - I wholeheartedly recommend.
What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon, I did this tour solo and I think it can often be a bit intimidating doing these kinds of things alone but Julia the tour guide was very friendly and personable which made me feel at ease. The tour covered lots of very interesting women, some I didn't know about prior and will be reading more on after this afternoons introduction. Plenty of information and interesting stops along the way. I think it's incredibly important to have a tour focused entirely on women when there are so many fascinating women that have lived in Manchester and they are so often over looked in favour of the men. The tour felt very inclusive, featuring women of colour and queer women, again so often overlooked. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour, perfect for any lover of Manchester's rich feminist history. Highly recommended.
