ハードハットツアーでエリス島の舞台裏を覗いてみましょう。通常は非公開の廃病院複合体を90分間ガイド付きで見学できます。 セーブエリス島が案内するこのツアーでは、島の南側にある感染症病棟、検死室、洗濯場、職員宿舎など、29の未修復の建物を見学します。 医師、看護師、移民の足跡をたどりながら、かつてより良い生活を求めて到着した人々をケアするために使われた不気味な通路や手術室を探検しましょう。 途中、フランスのアーティストJRによる、朽ち果てた空間を舞台に等身大の歴史的な写真を展示する心に残るアートインスタレーション「Unframed」が展示されます。 皆さんの参加は、これらの歴史的建造物の継続的な保存を支えています。 このツアーは、歴史愛好家、写真家、そしてアメリカの移民の物語とより深く、より強力なつながりを求める人に最適です。

The hard hat tour of Ellis Island was very interesting. They limit the size of the group to provide a very interesting an immersive tour. It was very easy to hear what the guide was saying and we were able to ask questions. It was so interesting to see how the immigrants were housed in the hospital wings.
It was very informative as well a lot of beautiful sights. Would highly recommend it.

This tour was not available when I had the pleasure of visiting Ellis Island in 1999. Very interesting and informative. Will be interesting to see much renovation takes place over the years. Bob from Jersey was a great guide… thanks Bob!
We highly recommend this tour. Denise was an amazing guide (excellent storyteller, very nice...). And buying tickets helps to finance renovation. Don't hesitate to book a tour.
The tour was really informative and interesting. You hear the background stories about life on Ellis Island and "become an immigrant" so you can fee a little of what they experienced during the documentation process. Our volunteer guide was a history teacher, plus she had many direct ancestors who came through Ellis Island, so her passion about the subject was contagious. Going through the abandoned hospitals and residences of the doctors was a mini adventure. If you want to experience more on Ellis Island that is off-limits to everyone else, then this tour is required. It made history come alive!
