「日光を見るまで『壮大』と言わず」に、徳川幕府の開祖・徳川家康の最期の眠所や近隣の神社仏閣を訪ねる理由を理解する。 日本有数の世界遺産「日光の社寺」のなかでも有名なのが、江戸時代を繁栄させた大将軍・徳川家康が祀られている神社です。 現在見られる社叢のほとんどは17世紀に再建されたものです。 国宝8棟、指定建造物34棟を含む55棟の社殿を擁する。 見どころは、漆塗りと極彩色の豪華彫刻で、全国から集められた職人技に目を奪われる。 平和の象徴「眠る猫」と 、 「 悪を見ず、悪を聞かず、悪を言わず」のポーズをとった「三猿」も必見！
日光の神社エリアに入る前にまず目にする建造物が新京橋。
中禅寺湖は、25キロメートルに及ぶ大自然に囲まれた栃木最大の湖。 この地域は19世紀後半から20世紀初頭にかけて外国人に人気の避暑地であった。 フランスとベルギーの大使館の別荘は今でもここにあります。 湖畔では四季折々の魅力を楽しむことができます。 水辺を散策路が取り囲み、湖上遊覧船も運航されている。 特に桜やツツジが咲いている時期や紅葉の時期には湖からの眺めは絶景です。 湖に映える紅葉を楽しむ「紅葉めぐり」はおすすめです。
華厳の滝は日光四十八滝の中でも最も有名な滝である。 中禅寺湖の水は97メートルまっすぐに降り注ぎ、眼下の岩に降り注いでダイナミックで芸術的な自然の作品を作り出しています。 水の勢いと轟音が間近で確認できる滝壺に、専用リフトが案内！ どの季節でも印象的なこの滝は、5月の新緑、6月のハウス・マーティン、あるいは1月と2月の間、青い氷に覆われた凍った滝の小さな小川である「12の滝」に囲まれると、特に壮観に見えます。
輪王寺は日光の最も重要な寺院である。 8世紀に日光に仏教を伝えた僧・勝道上人によって開山された。 本堂である三仏堂には、金漆塗りの大型木造阿弥陀像、千手観音、馬頭観音が安置されている。 三柱の神は二荒山神社に祀られている日光三山の神の仏化とされる。 三仏堂は2019年春、10年にわたる改修工事が完了した。
霧降の滝は、日光の寺社から北東に数キロ離れた霧降高地の下にある、落差75メートルの二段構えの迫力ある滝。 優雅な滝が山を滝のように流れ落ちる様子は、春と夏には緑豊かで、秋には赤やオレンジ、金色の燃えるような色合いを見せる周囲の紅葉と好対照をなしている。 霧降という名前は、下滝の底の岩に水がぶつかったときにできる細かい霧にちなんで「落ちる霧」という意味です。 霧や霧が谷を覆うと稀に視界が遮られることがある。 かつては滝の根元までハイキングが可能であったが、数年前に登山道が一部崩落し、それ以来閉鎖されている。

Sarfy made our day trip from Tokyo to Nikko super easy and enjoyable! We had a great day exploring the Nikko and were able to relax on our way back to Tokyo.

If you evaluated the tour you would consider it excellent, both for the cultural, historical and interesting places visited and the respectful, attentive and professional guide Sarfraz. It achieves comfortable communication to meet the demands of visitors.
Sarfy was a great driver and guide. He created a very comfortable environment for our family of five to enjoy Nikko. He was on time and got us to the points of interests before it became too crowded. His driving was so smooth that we all fell asleep at some point during the drive back. Highly recommend!
I had a fantastic day in Nikko and were able to see an incredible amount despite a few unexpected changes. The ropeway/cable car was closed for maintenance, but the itinerary still worked out beautifully. We visited Lake Chuzenji, Kegon Falls, and Chuzenji Temple before heading down to the main shrine and temple complex. The Toshogu Shrine area was the highlight — absolutely stunning, peaceful, and full of history. The guide/logistics made everything easy, and the pacing felt just right. Even with travel time back to Tokyo, the day never felt rushed. This is a great trip if you want to experience nature, temples, and traditional Japan all in one day. Highly recommended — especially if you're short on time but still want to see something truly special outside Tokyo.
We were very fortunate to have Serfi (Monkey Man!) as our guide for that Nikko tour. He was very knowledgeable of the area and hidden gems. His driving was superb and the van was very comfortable. Highly recommend the Nikko tour.
Nikko is beautiful. We got to see wonderful scenery and monkeys. Sarfy was awesome during the visits and car ride.
