Highlight for our children in Manchester

With my children from 6 to 8 been inside for at least 2 hours. You will learn a lot about the history of football but on the 2nd floor there are also many DIY assignments. Successful half day trip for the kids when you are visiting Manchester.

Not just a museum

Lovely experience to bring back memories of years of football, I took my 18 year old footballing daughter so we were able to play the games together and do the quizzes. Would recommend a visit if you have the time.

Overall, I left feeling that the museum has the potential to be so much better. For the price charged

I visited the National Football Museum with my son and was really looking forward to it, especially considering the high admission price. Unfortunately, we left feeling very disappointed. The exhibits felt surprisingly small, with many items displayed behind dark glass that made them difficult to appreciate. For a museum called the *National Football Museum*, I also expected much more focus on the history and achievements of the UK's national teams and domestic game. Another disappointment was that a large proportion of the museum seemed to focus on the modern evolution of football, including topics such as the women's game and racial integration. These are undoubtedly important parts of football's story and deserve to be included, but it often felt as though these themes were repeated throughout the museum rather than being presented in a dedicated section alongside the many other aspects of football history. I came hoping to learn more about the history of the game itself, and it felt like that took a back seat. For comparison, we recently visited a similar football museum in Madrid and spent around three hours there because there was so much to see and learn. At the National Football Museum, we had seen everything we wanted to see in less than an hour. Overall, I left feeling that the museum has the potential to be so much better. For the price charged, I expected a richer, more engaging experience celebrating the history of football. Sadly, it didn't live up to those expectations.

Brilliant place - and not just for football fans!

Love this place. Super friendly & knowledgeable staff. Always loads to do for kids and grown-ups and they do a great job at keeping exhibits bang up to date. You don't need to be a huge football fan to enjoy it - anyone with an interest in British social history would find something of interest. Nice cafe too!

Afternoon visit to the National Football Museum

My wife and I pre-booked our visit to the the National Football Museum, safe to say when we got there we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly, attentive and gave us newbies clear instructions. We were asked to wait 30 mins for our tour, got the escalator to the first floor, took a few photo's and had a mooch around before making our way to start the tour. Sadly I never got our guides name but what a fountain of knowledge he was, some good humour thrown in and we were all like mates on an afternoon out. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, interactions and learning the history and he carried on well past an hour, we didn't mind at all, the memorabilia they have is next level. We were there for about 3 hours and would definitely recommend this is great value for money.

Limited Museum

Very limited football displays. Lots of activities for youth but not really a museum. Best for ages 10-16.
