Very friendly and outstanding staff, enjoyable excursion!
Half day was plenty. Especially with kids. We had 90-120 minutes in the water. It was great and we saw some of the best reef I’ve seen in over 40 years. They gave a great presentation prior to the trip. The staff was very knowledgeable and nice. If they recommend sea sickness meds during to high wind/rough seas, take it. You have to cross some open ocean with a lot of pitch and roll. That’s with any company going out to the reef; not a knock of these guys. They have a great boat and super gear. I am a big guy and they even had wetsuits in my size. They gave yummy snacks and even had sunscreen for us. This was such a great option and checked all the boxes. Super for families, couples or singles. Highly recommend.
If you are in Cairns, you HAVE to snorkel with this crew. This is a smaller operation however they are truly incredible.
Great experience snorkelling at the Great Barrier Reef. Everything was well set up and the guides Kiki, Bailey, Cam and Alex were all very helpful. It was a windy day and the sea was choppy which made snorkelling and sea swimming for turn first time challenging but all the staff members were very helpful ensured everyone's safety. They also provide anti sickness medication before the boat ride which is recommended if it will be a choppy ride.

Very well organised,all the crew were super friendly whilst still being professional. We knew that getting out to the reef can be choppy and took our Kwells before boarding. The crew advised everyone that they had seasick pills available. Some chose to ignore that advice and paid the price. Despite the very rough waters out to Thetford reef, once there we had 2 hours of snorkeling. A fantastic location with the benefits of experienced marine biologist pointing out various aspects. They were also super helpful to those less capable swimmers. Noone was left behind so there's a bonus! Easy to recommend.

You were absolutely right to prepare for the choppier ride out to the reef, and I’m glad the crew’s reminder about seasickness tablets was helpful. When the wind is up, the journey out can be a bit wild, but once you arrive at the reef it really does reward you with an incredible experience. It’s great to hear you enjoyed the full two hours of snorkelling and got so much out of the marine biologist’s insights. Their passion for the reef really shines through when they’re pointing out all the cool animals. I’m also glad you noticed how attentive the team is with less confident swimmers. Locally owned and operated. Great experience. We saw so many fish and coral. The optional marine biology presentation before the tour is also great. Great guides. We loved Seb and Mike. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend.

Outstanding snorkeling experience! This business was white glove treatment it seemed. Very clean boat very educated staff who not only knew how to keep us safe, but also was able to give us reef and ecological information, many of them were trained biologist. The level of perks, such as anti-nausea, medication, water, the cleanliness of the wet suits and snorkels, the snacks they offered really made a day where the weather wasn’t good, a very excellent experience!! Special shout out to Kiki, Cam, Sebastian, Lawrence, and I’m sorry I can’t remember the captain’s name, but he was also very personable, and very good at his job!! Highly recommend!!!

What a great day!! Such a great tour to do. We had plenty of time to snorkel, boat ride was great and so were the snacks. The staff were all informative with regards to what we had to do and with the marine life. Loved it! Highly recommended!

We had the most fantastic day! From the moment we arrived everything was so well organised, including good space for getting fitted for wetsuits and fins. The boat was super comfy and very clean. The crew were so friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable and all clearly care a great deal about the reef. The snorkeling was greater than great - we saw so many different fish and even a turtle. Definitely recommend Pure Snorkeling as excellent value and awesome people.
