Beautiful lake and the cruise was nice. Felt like our captain could use some customer service training as he was very rude to his coworker. I found it very uncomfortable. Gondola was great. We got there early and they were able to accommodate us when we arrived. Beautiful views!
Easy process with the Roam buses . The staff were very friendly and informative. Our Canadian Rockies trip was beautiful from start to finish!!
As many of us want to see the beautiful sights, you should also consider adding the buffet lunch that is at the top of the hill. It’s a great view overlooking downtown and the food is excellent!
Was a little concerned at the gondola ticket counter. A male worker(didn’t get his name) said the vouchers wouldn’t work. I called Viatour’s customer service number, and then went back to the ticket counter. Got a nice young lady who helped a lot and vouchers were just fine. Loved the gondola ride and the summit of Sulphur mountain. Incredible views! Loved it. The Minnewanka cruise was also great. Both Heyden as well as the captain(driver) my apologies for not remembering his name we’re both great.
Loved Gondola ride. We arrived early and they let us go ahead and take an earlier ride up. Nice experience. Boat ride was able to also take about 30 minutes early. Host was informative. Scenery was nothing much more than what you could see from shore.
The gondola is nowhere near the lake. Allow at least an hour to get from one to another. There is a nice walk at the top of the gondola that takes about an hour, with photos stops.
Gondola and cruise were fabulous, but there was no info from Viator on option of getting from one to the other via free shuttle or ROAM bus #1 to downtown Banff, then free shuttle or bus #6 to Lake Minnewanka. We left our car at the Gondola parking all day and returned via buses to pick it up. At both activities, you must check into the ticket office for a tour time - don't assume you are booked for a cruise 2 hours after the Gondola descent time as the ticket states.
The experiences themselves were really good, but the timeframe to get to the lake from the gondola was real tight and I almost missed the boat. Feel like there needs to be a little cushion in the timing and not add stress to anyone.
We went before the free entrance and the crowds weren’t too bad. Fun experience and we were fortunate to do boat ride that was prior time to ours. Directions to Minnewanka cruise were not clear so make sure you are sure where you are going. Other than that no issues.
Brilliant way to do two key activities from Banff but if you do not have a car, make sure you have enough time to travel between the two. You can use the Roam Transit buses for free with your gondola and cruise tickets, but you will need enough time to allow the timetables to match up.
