Absolutely recommending this. We were picked up at 5 at the hotel and were driven to Santa Ana safely. Both Jorges, our guides, are great and very knowledgeable about this trip. Reaching the crater is a superb experience, good to see everything the eyes can see from the top. The main Jorge captured this in his drone which is a bonus feature. Please try this when in El Salvador
Jorge from Cotuza Tour was great . Very knowledgeable about the volcano surrounding restaurants and the lake. 5 am pickup was the way to go to beat the crowds. We will definitely be coming back.

Climbing the volcano inspires you to achieve any goal you set for yourself. The landscape is majestic, with the view of the Izalco volcano facing the Santa Ana volcano and the beautiful Lake Coatepeque to one side—a true adventure that includes a little bit of everything.
Climbing the Santa Ana volcano was a truly amazing experience and I highly recommend this private tour with Cotuzas. Jorge with Cotuzas Tours communicated clearly and quickly to all my planning questions and made the whole day easy, fun, and safe. Since this is a private experience, we got to avoid any inconvenience of picking up/dropping off other travelers and could use all our time to experience this unique and beautiful volcanic area. Jorge drove us directly to and from our hotel in a large and very comfortable SUV. He brought us to 2 great restaurants (breakfast before the hike and lunch after) that both had great food and gorgeous panoramic views of Lake Coatepeque. Jorge managed everything necessary for us to enter both of the parks. The hike is steep at times, and I appreciated Jorge encouraging me to climb as slow as I needed and take breaks even though my friend was able to go faster than me. I was sweating, but the summit is absolutely worth the climb! Jorge is very knowledgeable and I had a lot of fun asking him questions and learning about the different ecologies of the volcano. If you want a private hike and an extremely smooth experience planning and on the day of - book with Cotuzas.
