Josue was such a fun and knowledgeable guide. The timing for each leg of the trip was well paced. The hike is not easy (rocky and steep), so be prepared! Our group was pretty slow, but Josue was patient with the stragglers. The lake was really nice and the perfect temperature to cool off, but know that there's not really sand to sunbathe on - you can sit at the restaurant, swim, or go jet skiing. My wife and I were in the country for the first time and we really wanted to get to know not only urban life but also the local nature. Chose El Salvador Positive Tours for this and didn't regret it one bit. Our guide was a wonderful guy Diego, he has amazing English, perfect pronunciation and clear speech (and of course Spanish, which is his mother tongue and in which he was also kind enough to communicate with me, which is great for me, as I am actively learning this language). Communication was easy and easy. The transfer was very convenient as we were taken from our accommodation in the morning and taken back in the evening. The car is comfortable, there is air conditioning, except the guide was a good driver. When we arrived at the volcano, there was no need to pay anything, all these costs are already included in the tour price. Climbing was at a comfortable pace for the whole group, we all had time to chat and get acquainted, Diego had a great conversation and told interesting stories about local life and the history of the country. At the summit we were able to spend enough time to take beautiful photos with the volcano and enjoy the view. It is difficult to describe in words, such beauty must be seen with your own eyes:) After the volcano, we were taken to a restaurant that was on the shore of another lake, Diego had a menu on hand, so we ordered in advance, the restaurant didn't have to wait long. In short, I highly recommend this guide and this company, perfect service, very human and kind attitude, during the tour we were very comfortable and well, definitely it is worth it! 11/10 THANK YOU VERY MUCH, Diego!

Wonderful experience, easy to book, communicative, punctual and Diego our guide was fantastic. Super friendly, excellent English and knowledge. The trek up was a good work out, you would want some conditioning. The volcanic history that I learnt and to stand there 2300M above see level and experience the energy and sulfur rising up amazing and humbled we are to stand near such a natural force. It was an excellent trip with the Service provider - El Salvador Positive Tours - explaining all arrangements in advance and providing detailed information. In particular, I would like to praise my guide Diego Gommez for his engagement.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS! This booking comes with departure and return travel from your hotel; the tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and very accommodating. He took great pictures too! Josue sent everyone a welcome text the night before, sharing pertinent details about the trip. He was proactive about sharing the menu for lunch in advance and even ordered for us so our food would be ready upon arrival after an exhaustive hike up and down Santa Ana. I met some incredible lifelong travelers on this trip; the combination of solo, group, and foreign attendees made for a day filled with engaging conversation and social media connections. Our driver Frank made the trek with us and made sure that everyone who needed rest (me) had a companion to wait with. I'd request this dynamic duo if possible. Regarding the actual excursions, BUY HIKING BOOTS! You will need them, and bring plenty of water/electrolites, although they stop twice so you can grab breakfast, use the restroom, and stretch.

Gabi was our tourguide and she did a phenomenal job leading the way, teaching us about the history of not just the volcano but about El Salvador in general! Would 100% recommend!!

Incredible time. I decided to do a solo hike on my birthday. Our tour guide Diego was so helpful and you could tell he had a true and profound love for El Salvador and for this mountain in particular. It showed in the way he talked about it and made a difference for us. I was with a family that needed a lot of breaks, and he was very accommodating to their pace. I would definitely go back on a tour, bonus if Diego is leading it! :)
