I went alone for a one day trip from Tashkent to visit Samarkand and returned the same day. The operator picked me up from the hotel and drove me to the station to catch the fast-train. In Samarkand I was awaited by Farrux, an outstanding person and tourguide who made my day in Samarkand a wonderful experience. All stars on reliability, knowledge and kindness. Samarkand is definitively worth a visit! I was brought to the track at the trainstation in Samarkand and was awaited again in Tashkent for hotel transfer. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and everything went smoothly. We got to see all the sites promised. Unfortunately, we were told the high speed train tickets were sold out, as we needed to book a few weeks in advance. This is despite us booking the tour ~2 months in advance.

This tour was fabulous! Our guide Farrux was extremely knowledgeable and gave us enough time to take photos and shop without rushing us, but still kept us aware of timing so we could get to all the highlights. I only wish the high speed train had been available so we could spend a little more time but that was out of anyone's control. This tour is a must if you're short on time and want to get as much out of Uzbekistan as possible!
