Great day trip covering everything you should see in the area
Good experience overall. I booked a group tour but turned out to be only me.
The chauffeur Amila madushan was helpful and patient enough to accompany me throughout the day from 6.30 to 20.00, and briefed the local culture and religions. Geeara coordinated the trip very well, amazing reply speed.
The itinerary is reasonable and well planned, covering everything in the area, but you have to pay extra for safari and each attraction. There’s also a spice garden store stop, but no forced shopping.
I recommend this trip to those who want to do a day trip to Sigiriya, Dambulla, and elephant safari. Just remember the full day’s expenditure will be much higher than the group fee itself.

Great tour from Kandy
The tour was great. Indika, the guide was very knowledgeable and very proactive.
The optional safari is a must!

Decent tour
I had Amila as my driver/guide who was super friendly and informative. I had a really great day of sightseeing, especially at Sigiriya. I have to point out a couple of things though:
As a solo traveller I booked this because it was advertised as a group tour and I was hoping to meet some fellow travellers. It turned out I was the only person on the tour. Not the end of the world though.
So since this ended up as a private tour I was able to pick and choose which of the options I wanted to visit. This was going great until I expressed that I was ready to return to my hotel after what had already been a long day of sightseeing. The tour company were going to charge me extra for this, so we effectively had to find another random thing to do until they were happy for us to return. This makes absolutely no sense.
Other than that the tour was decent.

Sad to know that you are disappointed about not being able to comeback as you finish the tour.
As you had booked a public tour, we have to go with the schedule which is prepared for the group. There are specific time for start and ending.
There are some guests who book only the return transport back to Kandy from Sigiriya. For them the booking cut off time is 3 pm and we can not leave for Kandy before that time.
Only option available for you is to get a private car arranged for the return journey which requires and additional fee.

Dambulla and Sigiriya
Very good tour to visit Dambulla and Sigiriya!Happy they did not cancel the tour even being the only booking, thank you to Indika(chauffeur) for showing me around and Geesara for organising my trip.

3 major spots in one trip from Kandy
We started early in the morning and covered major sites like Sigiriya, Dambulla Cave temple and Minneriya National park safari in the same day. In extra, our guide cum driver Dulaj took us to spice garden as well. All the way, Dulaj drove excellent. Thanks to the trip coordinator Mr Geesara.

Sigiriya and Dambulla trip
Such a great day with Amila from Mahaweli tours. Amila was so knowledgeable, professional and generous with his time every step of the way. He made it a really fun day and I would highly recommend.

Great experience

Great day great driver and so worth going to Rock and caves
Our driver Dulaj was excellent. We were picked up in Kandy and driven to Sigirya and the Dambulla. We also stoppped in Natalie to view a wonderful Huddhu temple and also a spice and herb farm both were very interesting . We then went to the Sigiriya Rock before it was too hot. The climb is a big challenge and not for the faint hearted but so worth the view and achievement value at the top. We then visited the Dambulla cave temples. We didn’t like to do more stairs after the Rock but the cave temples are so worth going to see - the size of the lying Buhhds is so different.
Then on the way back to Kandy Dulaj took us to the centre of Sri Lanka!!!!
There is a really ancient tiny temple to see there,
Dulaj made the amazing trip to Dambulla and Sigiriya Rock one of the best trips we have had.
