Such an amazing experience. Everyone was extremely kind with helping us dress up with the kimonos, and the tea ceremony with Emi was exceptional.
This was an experience of a lifetime! To be dressed in kimonos, have our hair done up with flowers, and learn the magic of enjoying matcha, we will not soon forget this amazing morning! Mari was so patient and kind, not only telling about the art and history of tea-making, but also snapping photos of us afterwards in the garden. Definitely recommend this to others.
Dressing up in a kimono was beautiful and the tea cerimony was amazing. It lasts 45 minutes and they provide you with great insight on the process and history of it. Ami was lovely and the matcha was great. You can make your own tea. The building is also amazing and rich in history.
It was a lovely experience with Mari.
Mari was the best host! Great time.
We absolutely loved our tea ceremony with Sana. She was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable, making the experience both relaxing and meaningful. We learned so much about the traditions and history behind the ceremony, and every detail was thoughtfully explained. It was one of the highlights of our time in Kyoto and a wonderful way to experience Japanese culture. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Kyoto!
I attended a traditional tea ceremony in Kyoto and I can say without a doubt that it was one of the most beautiful and profound experiences of my trip to Japan. From the moment you enter the room, everything is pervaded by a peace and attention to detail that envelops you completely. The mastery of the tea master, the slow and precise gestures, the scent of the freshly prepared matcha and the respectful silence create an almost magical atmosphere. I really appreciated the perfect balance between the cultural explanation (made with great kindness and passion) and the experiential part. The wagashi was delicious, the matcha intense and velvety, and every single gesture had a meaning that made the whole ceremony even more fascinating. In a world that runs faster and faster, this experience gives you the opportunity to slow down, to be present and to really savour the moment. It is much more than just a tea: it is an immersion in Japanese culture, its aesthetics and philosophy. If you're in Kyoto, don't miss an authentic tea ceremony. It's a memory that I'll carry with me forever. 100% highly recommended!
Mari is very kind and friendly. Learning about the mystical meaning of the tea ceremony was very interesting. We had fun dressing up in kimonos and taking photos to remember this wonderful day.
We had an amazing time with Mari. The tea ceremony was beautiful! It is a must.
Excellent experience with Emi! We got to wear kimonos and share a wonderful experience without family. I would highly recommend.
