We loved this experience if you’re in the area.
What a wonderful cultural experience this was. A great experience if you’re in the area near the golden temple. Otherwise it’s a bit far away from everything in Kyoto. Our tea master and all of the helpers were so kind and welcoming and we really felt like part of Japan.

This was a truly wonderful cultural experience!! One of the absolute highlights of our honeymoon. It was amazing seeing the tea master do her craft, and I have never felt so beautiful as I did in the kimono I wore. The staff were so kind and lovely, taught us so much, answered all of our questions, and made us feel so comfortable. Thank you, so so much!!

Amazing
Loved, loved, loved! They meticulously dressed us (hair included) in traditional attire (kimonos). The tea house was gorgeous and just as I historically expected. We were taught by a real tea master in her traditional attire & were also allowed to practice the skills we learned. Everyone was extremely polite & accommodating as well. Overall amazing & highly recommend!

It was a wonderful experience! Mira walked through the process of the tea ceremony with su ch martial and precision. It was my favourite thing I did while visiting!

Good but bring own dishes
This was a great experience! I wish we had known the dishware would be not food safe and that we could have brought our own dishware. It cost a lot to use their dishware other then the small ones they provided for free.

However, we are very sorry for the confusion and discomfort caused regarding our tea utensils. Please rest assured that all the dishware used in our center is 100% food-safe and specifically crafted for serving matcha tea. In Japan, traditional tea bowls (Chawan) often feature natural clay textures, uneven surfaces, or lack a shiny glaze to reflect the aesthetic of "Wabi-Sabi" (finding beauty in imperfection). They may look different from everyday Western tableware, but they are completely hygienic and safe to use. Second, we would like to clarify our pricing policy. Our experience is entirely all-inclusive, and we do not have any options, upgrades, or rental fees for using our dishware. Every guest is welcome to use our authentic tea bowls at no extra cost. In the tea ceremony tradition, the host carefully selects the best bowl to welcome guests as a form of hospitality, which is why we do not typically have guests bring their own. However, your feedback is incredibly valuable. We'll improve our explanations so future guests feel comfortable and clear about our options. Magnificent experience
We enjoyed a relaxed and quiet tea ceremony in Kyoto. We were very impressed by the friendliness of the tea master and the assistant. The selection of kimonos was magnificent and the hairstyle was a true work of art. The ceremony itself was an experience.
