I booked two tours on the same day with Pompei Grand Tour. The first was Pompeii new excavations and discoveries. The second was Herculaneum private with expert guide. First I want to say that my guide Ira, was the absolute best. Not only did he provide me with two great tours, he also made sure I made it from one location to the next, which meant a lot since I was in unfamiliar territory. The tours were exceptional, mostly because they were not the typical “cookie cutter” rush you from one spot to the next, type of tour. We set a comfortable relaxed pace and he was a wealth of information. I enjoyed every moment. Also, Ira ensured that I knew what train I would need to take to get from Pompeii to Herculaneum, as well as from Herculaneum back to Naples. His attention to these details made the travel stress free and so much fun. Appreciate everything Ira, you are awesome!

Thank you for such a wonderful and thoughtful review!
Spending a full day between Pompeii and Herculaneum is a special experience, and we’re very happy that Ira made it feel relaxed, personal and well cared for from beginning to end.
What you wrote means a lot to us, because a great tour is not only about sharing history. It is also about understanding the guest, setting the right pace, avoiding that “cookie cutter” feeling, and making sure the whole day runs smoothly, especially when moving between different sites in an unfamiliar place.
We’re so glad Ira helped make the travel between Pompeii, Herculaneum and Naples stress-free, and that his knowledge, attention and kindness made both tours so enjoyable.
We’ll be very proud to share your words with him. Thank you for spending such an important day with Pompeii Grand Tour!

The perfect guide for the perfect setting
Guides are a bit like teachers: some leave you completely unmoved, while others inspire you with their stories. You hang on every word they say and wish the tour would never end.
Enzo definitely belongs to the second category. He made it feel as if you were actually experiencing daily life in Pompeii. It was truly fascinating to realize that life 2,000 years ago was not all that different from life today.

Your words about guides being like teachers are beautiful.
Enzo will be truly touched to know that his storytelling made you feel close to daily life in Pompeii. That is one of the most powerful parts of visiting this place: realizing that, behind the ruins, there were people, habits and emotions not so far from ours.
Thank you for such a generous review!

Magnificent visit to repeat.
Antonieta was magnificent giving the explanations in both English and Spanish, the tour despite the heat was enjoyable.

Nos alegra mucho que Antonieta haya hecho la visita tan clara y agradable en ambos idiomas. En Pompeya, especialmente con calor, una guía atenta y amena marca realmente la diferencia.

Pompeii
Great and informative tour. In some areas, it was a bit quick in some parts, understanding it’s a big site and we had limited time.
