明治天皇と昭憲皇太后を祀り、日本の近代化に愛された東京を代表する神社、明治神宮。 そびえ立つ鳥居をくぐり、全国から寄贈された10万本の木々が林立する道を歩く。 本殿では、伝統行事の見学や祈祷、木製の絵馬に願い事を書く。 神道の精神を垣間見るだけでなく、世界でも有数の賑わいを見せる街の中心部で安らぎのひとときを過ごすことができる。
この鳥居は高さ12メートル、幅17.1メートルの木造明神鳥居としては日本最大級である。 門の大きさは圧巻で、神社の神聖さを物語っている。
明治神宮は、明治天皇と昭憲皇后の御霊を祀る、東京を代表する神社です。 1920年創業、賑やかな渋谷エリアにある70ヘクタールの広大な人工林の中にあり、都心ののどかな昔ながらの逃避行空間を提供している。

Nicolas did an excellent job explaining the history of our tour, allowing everyone to have a simple, yet deeper understanding of all this. Gave us fun little facts along the way as well as giving us ideas on places to go in Japan if we want to get the authentic experience
The tour guide Nicolas was exceptionally well-versed in the history of Shinto and the practices of visiting these sacred shrines. I would highly recommend him for a family trip to Tokyo!
