We had an absolutely amazing experience creating our lamps. I have always loved these lamps and to be able to make and design my own lamp is incredible. A massive thank you to Nihal who was very kind, helpful and patient such a beautiful lady, thank you so much Nihal, we love you. My sister and I met our guide by a coffee shop by the metro, I was worried how we would know she was there but no worries she called my phone and obviously then she and us spotted one another, thank you, good way she communicated. She explained all, that we were going on the metro which was included in the price of our workshop ticket then took us to the workshop which was a short walk pass a beautiful mosque where we were welcomed by such lovely people, they made you feel so welcome. It was a lovely place. They explained what and how we were going to create our lamps with lots of beautiful colours to choose from and ideas of designs. There was tea, chai, water and biscuits being offered throughout but we were so intent on making our lamps we didn’t drink much. There was an opportunity whilst you lamp was drying to sit in their homely garden with friends you made during your experience drinking tea and eating biscuits. You didn’t feel rushed at all. The whole day was absolutely brilliant, if you’d like to make a lamp then this is the place to go without a doubt. ‘Istanbul work shops com’
Better go quick before the price goes more crazy. In October, it cost $35 for two people and in April it cost $30 for one person..
I had such a wonderful time at the mosaic lamp workshop! If you are looking for a creative escape in Istanbul, look no further than Istanbul Workshops. What truly made this experience stand out was our teacher, Nihal. She is clearly a master of her craft—patient, encouraging, and incredibly skilled at guiding you through the intricate process of selecting colors and patterns. The most delightful and unexpected surprise, however, was that Nihal speaks Polish! Being able to converse with her so naturally, almost like she was a native speaker, added a layer of comfort and connection I never expected to find in Turkey. It made the atmosphere feel so welcoming and the instructions even easier to follow. I walked away with a beautiful lamp and some great memories. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Istanbul. Thank you, Nihal! :)
I can’t recommend enough this place! We had an unforgettable experience making glass lamp! Everything was well organizer- we received a confirmation by email as soon as we book a workshop with detailed explanations of location and Google Maps attachments. And a day before our workshop we received reminder via TripAdvisor notifications and phone message. There is a meeting point in European side of Istanbul where they pick you up and you take a water ferry to Asian side to workshop! It is by itself a beautiful adventure! As soon as we enter restored historical building we were invited to inner garden and offered turkish coffee or tea with lokum or cookies. During class we were explained all the details of glass lamb making and historical facts about it. The instructor was positive, attentive and helpful! Thank you for a wonderful time, we absolutely loved our lamps!
Enjoyed ourselves and can’t wait to return for other classes. Quaint, hospitable, and memorable experience.
Amazing experience from start to end. Cosy place and great people who were so helpful and welcoming. I would recommend this workshop to be on your list when visiting Istanbul.
greet experience. explanation was top and the material also. greet place to work and learn for a good price thank you nihal you was awesome
We chose this activity after having visited the most popular Istanbul sites on previous trips. This was a nice change, allowing us to have a nice hands-on experience. Though we met is Sirkeci, the workshop is actually in Uskudar (on the Asian side of the Bosphorus). We were led on the train to reach the destination, and we opted to return via the ferry. The guide was helpful without being overbearing. After completing the project, we went to one of the restaurants nearby for lunch, allowing our lamps to dry before picking them up. Staff prepared them with bubble wrap to make them safe for travel.
The company did a good job meeting up with us and taking us to the studio. It was a good experience for my whole family. My only negative comment is I thought we were getting 110v lamps so they would be compatible in the US. I may of read that wrong. It's ok my husband will convert it over. Otherwise we are happy
