Very poor airport taxi experience. We booked Fenix Cars weeks in advance for a journey to Gatwick on 27 May and specifically requested a child car seat for our two-year-old, as this was advertised as something they could provide. On the morning of travel, the driver called to say he did not have a child seat. The taxi was then 25 minutes late for a pre-booked airport journey. When the driver arrived and I raised both the lateness and the missing child seat, he became aggressive, threatened to leave, then got back in his car and drove off. This left us on the driveway with our toddler and three large suitcases, trying to arrange alternative transport in time for our flight. We were travelling to Spain for our wedding, so the whole situation was extremely stressful and upsetting. We ended up having to take the train to Gatwick. Since then, we have had no explanation, no apology, and no attempt to put things right. A pre-booked airport taxi should be punctual, professional and prepared – especially when a child seat has been requested weeks in advance. This was completely unacceptable.
