On a rainy afternoon we did a Calligraphy class with a well known and award winning calligraphy artist and teacher - Ryusho Tanabe. He does calligraphy on a large scale with oversized brushes. His art is beautiful. In our class we learned how to do one symbol - mine was Happiness. I highly recommend this activity, we really enjoyed it.

Ryusho is an amazing teacher and very high caliber calligrapher. He made the experience so personalized and really took the time to explain each step while including green tea and sweets. Being able to take home our artwork is a big bonus. Highly recommend Ryusho and this experience!

Ryusho is so talented and such an amazing teacher! I booked this class for my husband and I to do while in Osaka because when I was in elementary school, my school brought in a Japanese calligraphy artist to teach in my art class :) My husband said this was his favorite activity of all that we did while on our 2.5 week honeymoon across Japan!! Thank you Ryusho for creating this lifelong memory for us, your patience and for helping us perfect our art!!

I will continue to spread the message of calligraphy so that as many people as possible around the world can find happiness. Wishing you much happiness.
Ryu welcomed me very warmly. With great patience, he explained to all of us the details of his art, his technique, and the origins of the calligraphy he practices. It was a truly enriching and thoughtfully curated experience. I highly recommend the class and I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from an artist as talented as he is.
